The mustard Agency

schoolwebsite.co.uk

I have been asked to find out a bit more on these two companies regarding their school website provisions.

Does anyone have and good or bad points about either, or can you recommend an alternative.

The school does not wish to use internal resources to build the site however we can host it.

Many thanks

We use schoolwebsite.co.uk for our site. They built it and host it and we have never had a problem. The site is very nice looking.

I'd link to it but sods law is its down at the moment as we transfer domain name registrars!

Let me know if you want to see it.

Have seen a few made by schoolwebsite, not heard of any problems.

Could also look at e4education.co.uk, they designed one for a local academy.

As it happens we had a guy from schoolwebsite come and have a meeting with us today to talk us through what they could offer us. Very very impressed with their CMS and what they had to offer. Time will tell as to whether we go down that path but it's safe to say he impressed our head.....and that's not an easy feat!

Check out cleverbox.co.uk we changed to them last October, very happy so far. CMS is different to SW and E4 as you don't edit on the page, I did a trial of all sites CMS and this one is easy for admin staff to use as well as yourself.

We got them to do our photography, prospectus and website. They also did our company profile so all documents are set to x colour and style. Our school design is unique and they are happy to do whatever you want.

Thanks to everyone for their input, I believe that the school have chosen schoolwebsite.co.uk.

The guy that came down to present their product was excellent. The CMS was very slick too.

I've phoned a few of the suggested ones but they all seem to be about £5/6k a time. Not really useful when you are a small school with a typical small budget! Can anyone recommend anyone else?

Those of you who use e4education, schoolwebsite and other education focused providers: how does your website hold up when it's a snow day? Our current (inept) provider struggles every year, on the one day when everyone is wanting to check the website, and I'm sick of dealing with it. I want to be sure that any company focusing on schools - thus dealing with a spike in traffic from every customer - doesn't result in collapsing websites.

I'd quite like to know the answer to that too, we went with e4education and our new website should be finished within the month as far as im aware, hope the experience is a good one!
