laserblazer Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Somewhere outside of school. I've put up big notices but I bet I still get pestered "Can I still get my emails?" "Yes, if you do what I'm doing and use your smartphone!"
strawberry Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Yeah but I don't need the whole internet! Just Google.
crt404 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 When it comes back online, can I be first! 4
sparkeh Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Bet you get asked "Any idea what time it will be back up?"
strawberry Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Let me prepare you for your day... I only need a little bit of internet!!. It's for a levels!. Can't we just get new internet? This internets always broken. My internet at home works, can I use that? Well my netbook works on a dongle , can't the school just use wireless? I'll need it after lunch. My husband is good with the internet, do you want me to email him? Can I still print? 2
Garacesh Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Can I still print? I wish I could laugh and say "It's the internet that's down, why would they ask about printing?" but all I can do is try to drink the memories away and cry
SovietRussia Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 The internet is down?! But my whole day is planned around it, how can I watch YouTube?
laserblazer Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 One teacher almost in tears, they are being observed all through the day and she's emailed her lesson plans to herself. I took pity and downloaded them via my phone.

Michael Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Internet connectivity was down for all schools in Birmingham using the BGFL, however all appears OK now. Interestingly Service Birmingham performed a firewall migration over the weekend, so it appears it went a little t!ts up. It's nice to know it was thoroughly tested
CHR1S Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Yep, it did go in an upward direction.... but did we really expect it not to?
Tricky_Dicky Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Yep, it did go in an upward direction.... but did we really expect it not to? It was never going to go smoothly was it! Wonder if we will ever get access to the shiny new filtering system they were showing off at the NetMan meeting a little while ago.

Worcestershire, West Mids, Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Staffs from memory.

I wouldn't rush in to it if I were you. We are doing the sums to get out!

CHR1S Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Ahh its the Birmingham, lets merge and make 100's of staff redundant to claw back some cash while attempting to provide something that resembles service we have been waiting for
