Dos_Box Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Well, seeing as the nights have drawn in and Christmas is coming near I thought I'd just let those of you who like (or know someone who likes) Jack Daniels in on the offer that asda currently have on. It's £15 for a 70cl bottle atm, but get 'em quick as I suspect they will go very quickly at that price. Edited December 2, 2013 by Dos_Box
plexer Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 @SYSMAN_MK quick stock up so you don't have another emergency. Ben 1
Rawns Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Sainsbuy's had a lot of JD on offer lately (original, honey etc), and the Jim Beam too. Luckily, I had a bottle of each on my Christmas list and they wife gave them to my rents and in-laws! Should be a VERY Merry Christmas! On a side note, has anyone found a retailer that does the limited edition JD Winter Spice? Can't find it any where! We used all our nectar points collected over the course of a year (about £100) to get all our Christmas wine and beer on the w/e! Sainsbuy's currently have 25% off 6 bottles of wine, plus a lot of bottled ales on offer too! Rumour has it though Morrisons are doing 33% off 6 bottles of wine...
yugo Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Bought a bottle of JD Silver Select a few weeks back when passing through an airport. Looking forward to trying it.
Dos_Box Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 How nice are those JD variants? I wouldn't mind trying a bottle whilst they are cheap. So long as they are nice that is.
plexer Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 @Rawns was it the winter jack? If so it's ASDA that have it. Online Food Shopping - ASDA Groceries Ben 1
Rawns Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 @Rawns was it the winter jack? If so it's ASDA that have it. Online Food Shopping - ASDA Groceries Ben That's the one! Thanks! Anyone tried it?
LosOjos Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Only JD variant I've tried was Gentleman Jack, it was slightly smoother than normal JD but not worth the extra cost IMO. I used to love JD but the price has rocketed in recent years, find I drink a lot more Jim Beam these days.
plexer Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Gentleman Jack is lovely straight up as is single barrel The regular old no7 I mix and for all other occasions it's a bit of Jura. Ben
StevieM Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 JD Tennessee Honey is stunning. Think Drambuie plus! It's normally about £26 a bottle, but Sainsbury's had it at £20 a little while back. It just so happened that I had a Nectar voucher for £3 off at Sainsbury's if I spent £20. Kerching!!!
Earthling Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I drink tequila, I love tequila.......blanco, gold, with worm, without worm, Jose Cuervo, Corrida, as long as it's tequila, I'll drink it and face the consequences. My ex went to New York for a week and brought me back a bottle of........JD. 1
rich_tech Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Still have the JD here from last year that my parents bought me, its my preferred poison these days along with Southern Comfort, Jim Beam and Captain Morgan, managed to hammer through a litre on an afternoon/night out at a friends barbeque last summer, wife was not impressed at the time, even though it was watered down with ice Was still steaming the next day too, lovely stuff and this thread just made me realise how much I feel like one now after not drinking for about 5 months
LeMarchand Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 The honey one is lovely. If its only £15, buy some!
Rawns Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Don't forget The Kraken Black Rum too! Had a bottle from the bro-in-law for my Birthday earlier in the year. We cracked it open there and then, and between me, him and the father in law, we polished off 3/4 of a bottle. I was hanging the next day! It went down waaaay to easily though! Also, it looks cool!
wesleyw Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Jim Beam do a Cherry and a Honey flavour too, both are very good. Wes

LosOjos Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Jim Beam do a Cherry and a Honey flavour too, both are very good. Wes Red Stag - seriously dangerous stuff, far too tasty for something so strong! Also, Jim Beam Devil's Cut - slightly stronger than normal Jim Beam, actually tastes very similar to JD to me
danjoslin Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 The new winter JD is grate warmed treated my self last night to a bottle
tech_guy Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 The honey stuff is a travesty - a drink for girls - like Southern Comfort.
ChrisH Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I didn't think the Gentleman Jack or the Single barrel were worth the extra when I tried them. If you like the honey infused ones then my Favourite is seagrams number 7 dark honey but for a real whisky give me Talisker.
CAM Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Honey? Pah, visit Old Compton Street and buy some proper honey mead from the specialist off-licences round there. Can't beat the stuff for Christmas.
danjoslin Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Best christmas tree I have seen in a long time 1

danjoslin Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 If only they could do an advent calendar! Make your own out of the min bottles
LosOjos Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 If only they could do an advent calendar! It's not JD, but this Advent calendar from Master of Malt would make for a great December: http://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/drinks-by-the-dram/the-whisky-advent-calendar/ http://cdn3.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/p-1987/drinks-by-the-dram/the-whisky-advent-calendar.jpg 1
