  2. Thanks for the reply I have got a call logged with them and they have had a look but might be worth you logging it as well. Dan
  3. Is any one else having problems with MyConcern running slow when accessing or loading data? We are currently finding it almost unusable.
  4. Does any one remember the company that had the stand with the photo stop of the space man and Alien? Had me picture done and now can’t remember who it was to have a look at it.
  5. Hi Vicky, you will need to first stop your DPM services then upgrade your version of SQL to SQL2014 with SP1 (don't install SP2 as it's not comparable) reboot the server. From there you then can do an in place upgrade to DPM 2016. The only thing I would say is there have been a change with store in DPM 2016 and I had to wipe our storage change the partition type to fit in with the new modem storage would be worth having a look on line about setting up DPM 2016 storage. Dan
  6. Hi Vicky, I did this last week, it was a bit of a pain what version of SQL are you using with your DPM 2012r2 install, what server OS and what's your DPM version number then I will let you know what steps I took based on your current setup. Dan
  7. We looked at all the usual suspects but settled on iboss for our school. It is not yet as well known in the UK as they only recently set up here, but they claim to be No1 in USA education. iboss has a really nice modern look and feel and uses their own technology instead of a proxy server so is much quicker than our old product that ended up a bottleneck on our 100mb line. It was also cheaper and includes stuff like full bandwidth management and MDM to filter your laptops and mobiles off premise! They will lend you a box to play with without any sales pressure, or PM me if you want more info on our setup.
  8. I have been using IBoss for the past 2 months its grate relay flexible exactly what we were looking for and our re seller got us a grate deal on it that made it even better her is a link to the case study i have just done with them: Sweyne Park School Upgrades to iboss Next Generation Security - Purdicom well worth having a Demo
  9. We work with a company in Leicester called Neustro, they help with our ICT needs such as bespoke support, infrastructure and devices including iPads. We are due to open a new sixth form which has been kitted out recently. All of our sixth formers will have an iPad (although they belong to the School) and we will be using an MDM solution – they even sorted out an MDM trial for us to test. They also work with other Schools on managed 1:1 Schemes so they can discuss both options with you including the pro’s and con’s… The account managers and technicians are great and I’m sure they would be happy to nip in to look at the different options with you? Dan
  10. Depends if I have got meetings I'll ware a suite, if I'm doing hands on stuff with the tech's in the classrooms pollo and trousers but most days I going in jeans and a T-Shirt.
  11. Hi all, Is any one using 3D projectors in there maths department and if so what software are you using?
  12. I user the following guide when I setup our RDS and it was easy todo: http://www.concurrency.com/blog/remote-desktop-services-in-windows-server-2012-step-by-step-guides/ The only thing that was a pain was with the SSL certificate as our internal domain doesn't match our external domain so we had to get a SAN SSL that supported local names, but you can't get them any more so we are currently looking in to split DNS to get around it for when the certificate runs out.
  13. SSD all the way your never go back to HDD
