Without doubt the stupidest idea I have ever heard. The sooner these tax dodgers get found out the better. I imagine there will be a time when they buy an island an fill it with monkeys to fill the parcels to avoid any sort of taxes.

 

With that in mind I still buy from them as they are cheaper usually.

im sorry its the system thats at fault imo not amazon. If they can legally pay little tax why shouldnt they i know i would if i could

Totally agree. If the Government employed the same tax lawyers that they did, maybe we wouldn't have to pay so much. But they will complain about their mates not paying what they might whilst quietly saying 'good on them'.

I'd presume it wouldn't need to. With it been delivered within 30 minutes of pressing buy you should still be in (presuming delivery address is set to wherever you are.).

Perhaps you elaborate on why you think it stupid?

 

I love the idea. Order something and it gets delivered straight away. Great.

I would rather have this type of mindless drone delivering my parcels than the type we have at the moment.

Good point, and looking at the amount of Amazon parcels here around Xmas we would need a stacking system for Amazon Drones.

enable location on your mobile and it could follow / find you anyway

Yeah. That's not going to go well. Someone's gonna get a drone to the face and Amazon'll be sued to oblivion.

 

Not to mention the drones'll end up being stolen or broken.

I doubt it would need that much to take it down, unless they're bullet proof? Problem is that would add to the weight.

That much? a single tiny pellet being fired at something whizzing over your head, you'd miss 99 times out of 100 and the 1 time you hit it you'd be unlikely to bring it down with that.

 

I'm thinking the free waterproof box you get with every delivery has got to be worth some money :)

I would just sit about a mile off of an Amazon Distribution centre with a case of beer, It would be just like clay pigeon shooting.

But from a sociological aspect it will (eventually) result in a mass deskilling. But I suppose jobs would open in managing and repairing the drones, but people would need training in that I imagine. I think it is a good idea, things have to progress, but some consideration should be given to all aspects of it.
