hardtailstar Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Just had a teacher say the internet isnt working, I knew the problem wasnt the internet and it was Google instead. Told the teacher to use another search engine and they asked "whats that?" Sometimes I do wonder about them.

Jawloms Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I had someone say they "couldn't get on Google" (meaning the Internet) and it transpired that they had somehow set the "This page cannot be displayed" page as their homepage.
dave.81 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I sent an email to our SMT about a group of older computers being very slow and need replacing. Reply back from 1 saying that there was a problem with the internet in the area and when that was fixed the computers would be quicker. I sent a brief reply stating that internet speed is not the same as computer speed.

Vegas Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 We were asked by one of our staff if we could put the internet on a floppy disk (a few years ago now) so she could use it at home as she didn't have access.

detjo Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I really do wonder how they get on at home! Our finance officer recently had a new PC and asked if she had to turn it off at the end of the day. "That might be a good idea!" I said "Oh OK!" came the reply "... only, if I don't turn that or in the morning [pointing to the old PC], i can't see anything on the screen!"
