Good Morning Everyone,

We have just had a brief but successful trial of teamviewer and was looking to purchase so I can connect to teachers at home or remotely to the classrooms

but due to the company being in Germany they want to charge us 19% VAT which is causing the finance department a bit of a headache as it wont accept it into the new budgeting tool.

So what I am looking for is a piece of software that can be installed on the client to enable unattended access and does not require any intervention from the client, I dont mind paying for it

rather than options such as VNC etc but would prefer something that is a one off cost and not an ongoing annual charge such as logmein etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you supply the VAT number of the school when ordering you will get an invoice without vat.

Seems a lot of people didn't bother reading his thread.

I would recommend Chrome remote desktop, just due to the fact that I don't know any other alternatives other than that :p

I've recently managed to deploy UltraVNC via Group Policy - cost was free (other than my time!) :)

I followed a guide by Adam Rush (Deploying UltraVNC within an Active Directory environment using Group Policy - Virtually Impossible)

...But had to carry out some additional steps for firewall exceptions and also to ensure successful Group Policy deployment of the software.

I've documented the process I went through on my Blog:-

Si's Geeky IT Blog: Deploy UltraVNC through Group Policy (Windows Server 2008) to Windows 32 and 64 Bit Clients

Hope this helps!

How about buying a licence for AB tutor just for your machine and then installing the client across all of the machines at work, then you can take control whenever. As for home you could use http://www.join.me , all they need to do is give you the 9 digit code provided from the client on their machine and you can then gain access to their machine for free. Disclaimer I Work For Impero

Impero Remote manager does both team viewer esc style remote control and also Outbounds full client access as well..

+1 for CentraStage. Affordable and feature packed. :)

Edit: Not a 'one off cost' but still worth a look IMO.
