Now NOTHING will get done as I will be forever looking at the site 2. This might be sour grapes talking but I am a bit disappointed that a winner of Stock2ber is someone who hasn't even posted in the thread. Not one single post from him in here. Not even a how do you do. Does that seem right?? I know everyone is entitled to a fair chance to win something but at least say hi or something. It's not just me that thinks this is it?? Since our staff turnover rate is so low, we need to be in an active hiring phase for new tecchies etc, and we've recently bagged us a few new ones of those. You might have to wait for someone to have an "accident". Of course, CVs are always welcome at any time. We give them to HR to keep on file in case they might be useful in the future. Al 1

It's not just me that thinks this is it?? Agreed. ...I agree. It's annoyed me in every VeryPC giveaway thread so far. I've not done any stats or anything, but with well over 100 entrants in STOCKTOBER2! I reckon there are more entrants who have NOT posted than who have. We've got no problem with this. Being active in the thread is encouraged but by no means a prerequisite for entry or winning. I think that we'd see quite a big reduction in entries if we insisted on a certain level of involvement to qualify, and from a business point of view, we need this competition to be as popular as possible within our target market. We try to boost the chances of you regular posters by offering bonus entries and prizes as we go along. We also don't want to skew the result too far in anyone's favour, hence the entry cap of 3. It is always nice to see a prize going to an active contributor, but being drawn is still random chance, so any name can come out of the chassis. What we see the thread as really being for is a place to have fun: post the videos, make comments, banter, have a laugh and generally see where the flow takes us. I like to think of it as a little playground where you guys and us at VeryPC can enjoy ourselves and relax a bit. Judging by the activity, I think most would agree that the thread works pretty well in this regard. So it's here for those who want to join in, but if it became compulsory I suspect the amount of fun being had on here would drop somewhat. Either way, thread activity is not required for a standard entry, and bonus entries can be earned by joining in, so I think it's about as fair to both sides as we can make it, but it is still all pure chance - you could be drawn out of the chassis this very morning! [how bad will it look if one of you 3 DOES get drawn out of the chassis this morning now?] Okay, speech over. I think the only way I can finish this little shpiel is by wishing all entrants the best of luck. Al 1

Hi @Matt-A No lynchings in here (unless for some bizarre reason I've decided to re-enact some sort of robo-lynching in a prize draw video, which is unlikely, but not utterly beyond the realms of possibility during October at VeryPC). Currently there are 3 options for bonus entries: Post a silly joke for Colin (deadline 12pm noon TODAY!) - any joke qualifies (keep it clean) Post some sort of photoshop/paint chimera monstrosity or any other image that makes in onto the wall in the video (somewhat at my discretion) Impress me with something marvellous! (totally at my discretion but there has to be some authorship involved - NO PROMISES!) Total entries allowed is 3 maximum (so no more than 2 bonus entries). Multiple submissions in categories 1 or 2 only equal 1 entry per category (e.g. 2 jokes will only = 1 entry). As category 3 is for extra special bonuses (e.g. "above and beyond" efforts like the theme song video by Gonk), it is possible to earn both your bonuses for 2 selections here. The only thing I've picked this year as a Cat 3 IS in fact the theme song by Gonk. I love people getting involved and submitting things, but apart from mini-comp things like the Joke for Colin, posting it does not mean it will automatically earn a bonus entry. Please don't spend hours on something if all you are doing it for is the bonus entry because I might not pick it (and please don't hate me for that either!). If you do something for fun however and then post it, it's all good - you might get a bonus, you might not, but at least it was fun to do. Phew! I feel a bit like teacher today. Mr Explainatron!
