Just sat tucking into my Sarnies thinking, when it gets to the end of the month, especially in school holidays...I dont half eat some odd concoctions (compared to normal canteen food anyway)

Im currently having Nutella and Banana sandwiches and a can of Dandelion and Burdock

Anyone else have any peculiar dinner?

Am I understanding this correctly, your school's canteen has made you a nutella and banana sandwich?! That sounds disgusting! How much did they charge you for that monstrosity?!

Oh I get you now! :)

When I lived in my first flat on an apprentice wage, it was amazing the meals I used to find at the end of the month - I remember Smash and Bisto being quite a regular!

Last night I made pasta with "Chicken tonight" Spicy Mexican sauce and grilled some salmon I had in the freezer. Was ace and I've just had the left over pasta for my lunch.

Toast and super noodles or just a massive bowl of rice with black pepper and soy sauce are my normal end of month dinners.

Ham n Cheese sarnies pretty much every day at work (unless we all get together to make a curry or epic spag bol.

Either way I'm a creature of habit and sarnies and a bag of prawn cocktail crisps normally tide me over to teatime :)

Spaghetti, baked beans, chilli sauce, onion, sausages and grated cheese.

Wraps work really well too. Also, scatter some slow cooked onions on them. Or even better, buy a pot of the crispy onion bits and use them. So much quicker and just as awesome. :)

I've just dropped some money on a deposit and am now playing the "Is this safe to eat" game!

Today - a tin of tuna that doesn't have a best-by date, and some crushed chillies in the fridge with some fresh mayo. Tres bien.

Tomorrow - the unlabelled tin...

I remember playing a version of that game the last time my parents moved house.

Turns out they had a !Tin! of cheese, which was older than I am (and I was in my mid 20's at the time!)

We used to get canned cheese in the ration packs in my RAF days. It's actually quite tatsty, like eating a very dry cheese triangle. We feed the fish with it during a diving expedition, they seemed to love the stuff. The thing that has always puzzled me, is how do fish know that canned cheese is tasty and safe to eat?

Last night, I spent opening a ration pack meal - partly because I was really hungry, and mostly because I couldn't be bothered trying to make a meal of whatever was in the cupboards.

Still - chicken tikka with rice, followed by treacle pudding - still a win.

Payday today though - tonight, I shall feast like a king...
