I have been looking for different types of software to install in schools for the teachers to Share/control what is on the pupils screen, to see what pupils are working on/looking at. Also to be able display what the pupils have been doing in class to the teacher screen which can then be dislpayed on the smartboard. I have found a few online but can anyone recommend any other software which they are using or have used?

Cheers

We bought impero for this reason. We were also looking at netsupport school, about half the price. In the newest version (which US schools still don't have) they have ability to broadcast to screens before login... A much wanted ability for us.

Impero seems to be the one I come across in schools the most when I am working in and out of them.

When I was at school NetOp used to be the one, does anyone still use it?

We use Lanschool and waay before that RM Tutor 3 - although they are both net support school underneath. Great products and a good price. We trialled Impero but didn't use most of the features so couldn't justify the price

Impero here because it also offers additional tools for the technicians to remotely control the classroom computers and create actions to incidents, i.e. if student tries hacking the system will alert them and block their internet, for example, without any user intervention.

I looked at LANSchool once which was very nice. I stopped when I realised none of my teaching staff would ever bother to read the email telling them about it and spent the cash on big monitors instead.

Another vote for Impero here. The technical support is also superb; they have spent a heap of time online with me helping set various tweaks up and just generally showing me around. No hesitation when it came to our first renewal - in fact we took advantage of the long contract option and saved a fair few quid.

I've used a couple different classroom management solutions and I can say the LAN School is the best I've ever used. It's fully deployable via Active Directory, comes with GPO templates, and flat out works. The pricing is more than fair and they even offer crazy discounts if you're still using a competitors product.

I have installed LANSchools I have a quote from them for a site licence for just short of £4,000. I dont think that is too bad a price but like alot people have said the teachers do not use it even though they request it.

It is really good software (not as many functions as Impero) but if they are not going to use it i might as well put the money to some good use else where in the school. Our Demo has been on a week now so we have another 3 weeks if they dont use it in them 3 weeks then were going for Itcal which is free.

I have got to get Impero for one of my schools as the IT teacher there is very keen with it been a PRU so i look forward to installing that. :)

Thanks Guys for all your adivce.

...I can point you in the direction of schools in your area who are currently using it if needed.

I hope you could as you work for netsupport :)
