mattx Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Loved it. Have no idea why it's being slated in the press. Everything I wanted from a Superman movie and more. Well Done Zack. 1
mac_shinobi Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 What about the man of Adamantium ( AKA The wolverine )??
featured_spectre Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 It is being slated for its glaring plot holes, and being a lot of style over substance. It was meant to be a reboot, but did nothing to show the reason for why Zod became a warmonger, did nothing to show that the laws on Krypton banned natural born children due to the genetic engineering in place (granted neither did the original series of films), and as for the plot, the only reason I can think of them wanting to terraform Earth into Krypton is because they would essentially be gods on the planet. Otherwise, it is great.
fredbayker Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I didn't think it was that good either. They could have done much more with this. Won't say too much as I don't want to spoil it for anyone, I thought IM3 was a better movie.
superatticman Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 There will only ever be one General Zod and that will be Terrence Stamp!!!
featured_spectre Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Agreed, however he is the voice of Jor-El in smallville
Grey-gear Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I found it good, I had a few questions about one charater but part from that I enjoyed it. If you like super hero films you would most likeliy enjoy Man of Steel.

Scotbynature Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Saw it yesterday and thought it was great. Thought it had a good balance of action along with story, I thought they really got the essence of superman through. Granted it had a few missing pieces of the backstory with the reasoning behind the genetic engineering and General Zod being a bit of a nut but to fit all that in and not leave the rest out would have made the film too long.
mthomas08 Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Have not seen it yet but only slating I have seen is in regards to the Humour level could be improved and a few touches - still after that its being given a strong 4 star. Don't know why the complaining considering Batman begins was given a 3 and look how that trilogy turned out. I am seeing it tonight, I think people just expected too much from Man of Steel, maybe they wanted a Dark Knight 5 star film. They have already agreed on getting the 2nd one under way so perhaps we will see these problems wiggled out?
rickjames Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Got bored for the most part. Looked pretty, I guess. Saw Behind the Candelabra afterwards and enjoyed that a hell of a lot more.
gshaw Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I really liked it as well, some nice back story early on then Transformers style mayhem at the end... I'm easy to please
arwen Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I loved the first half, all the back story bit. Then it got to bar room brawl like fighting with added flying and explosions and I got bored. Also, he gets upset at killing someone but not for destroying multiple buildings full of people? Doesn't make sense to me...

Doesn't make sense to me... It's not supposed to - it's a film of a famous comic book hero. Fiction - the form of any work that deals, in part or in whole, with information or events that are not factual, but rather, imaginary and theoretical—that is, invented by the author. The fact he gets so upset at killing a "baddie" and not at probably killing hundreds doesn't make sense to me.
6Foot2 Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Veering off topic [a little] I saw this a couple of days ago: http://images.halloweencostumes.com/infographics/superman-infographic-FULL.jpg 1
