Sigh. So you can only dowload and apply an update once I see. It would be nice if solus checked the VERSION rather than assume if you dowloaded it you don't need it again.

I reverted my VM snapshot as I had a scheduled task interupt the process, and now I can't get solus to give me any updates. Just exactly what you would want if you had to restore from backup outside of school hours.

I'm downloading the CD instead as I have around 12 hours to get 2005/aug/sql fms going.

Oh I also PAY them money to get the updates released late. I kept being told the august release wasn't out.

SIMS Connection failed for login USERNAME reason 7

You do not have permission

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Advice This error occurs if you are using SQL Server 2000 service pack 4 and are on the August 2007 release of SIMS .net

To resolve the error you need to action the following.

Please run i.e D:\Simsroot\Sims\setups\SIMSSQLApplicationsetup.exe v1.558.12.0

This will update the Binn directory on the SQL Server

From i.e C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$SIMS\Binn

Please run SQLTools.exe

Go to File | Manage SP4 SQL 2000

In the Manage SP4 window double click on the SQL 2000 instance

Click the Connect button

Ensure that the tick is in the Enable Sims Security box

Click ok this will save the changes

Looking at my current SIMS install I do not appear to have a sysman account anywhere 8O I've looked in system manager and in the SQL database itself under users. Do I need to create the sysman account? I just login using my own but that has full permissions

We updated to Aug - but only installed SIMS.net not SQL updates or FMS conversion thing....

Sims.net is working fine... will wait to see how people get on installing SQL etc before we rush in!

What I don't understand is.. we are on SQL 2000 Enterprise... Do we need to upgrade to 2005 Enterprise - or the free version bundled with Sims?
