I noticed that 3pts Long Distance gives jobs that the GPS claims I can't make with a rest stop but I beat the GPS and my rest counter every time if I don't screw up. I get the trailer parked with about 20-40mins left to rest.

Also playing hard mode. Manual gears, UK cab, no UI mirrors. Aside from still playing guess the speed limit, I now have the extra distraction of a massive blind spot on my left unless I turn the camera. KERRRUNCH!

I went from a manual to a Auto. And there an opition to change how it changes gears. (instead of changing at 1200rpm it changers nearer 2000rpm) Im now doing 60L to 100miles now

How does it handle hillclimbing though? I find when my speed drops I start downgearing, along with downhill parts where I use the gears to help slow down.

It's also more fun with manual, so much potential to screw up, it's another game mechanic to manage. :)

Not had a any problems with hillclimbing, There needs to be some sort of override with the auto to force a drop down. (kickdown?) if i stop on a hill it dosnt like it as it drops it stight in to 2nd.

Euro Truck Sim 2: DUI...For Science!

Or more accurately: Having one beer and not driving too bad so deciding to ride along a barrier to increase damage because the point hadn't been made.

Hell, I drive worse than that and I don't drink, his point is invalid!

It's a YouTube video, not a BBC4 documentary. :p

Well it was filmed like a BBC4 documentary and had some idiot rambling away so you'll understand my confusion :p

what you boys using setup-wise PS3 controller? joystick? wheel? thinking about setting up my PS3 controller

I use my xbox controller, works lovely for me :) I'd say like with most controllers you'll probably fiddle with the mappings for a while but once you've got the setup comfortable for you it'll be brill, so I'd say go for it (the ps3 controller) - it's just down to personal preference really

Don't drink and drive, digital edition : Doing 80 with 20t of petrol through Germany. Reach over to get my drink, look back at the monitor and I've misjudged the turn, hit the central concrete barrier head on. 100% damage to cab, 65% damage to trailer. Repairs cost £72k!

That dropped me to £30k savings. Did the next two jobs perfect runs and my drivers getting better has pushed me back up to just under £300k thankfully.
