I am lead to beleive that Apple have a purchase plan to allow school staff

to purchase apple devices i.e. ipads, ipods etc interest free over 1,2 or 3 years.

Has anybody done this and possibly give me some information on how to set the agreement up.

Cheers in advance,

Stan.

Apple Education & Student Discount - Apple Store (UK) - thats the place for education on their store, you might also get deals like we do where our LEA have an agreement with a distributor to allow us to purchase the devices at a discount from the normally unshiftable apple prices

Has anyone looked at that Apple Edu Store and price items up its the same price on the items I tried last night that brand new retail from the normal Apple store are! Typical Apple Grrrr

I think what you are looking for is a leasing scheme. Apple don't do it directly but they have a number of partners that do. We got 1200 iPads at £20 a month for two years then £50 final payment. This included insurance, apple care, £25 iTunes Credit and Case.

Apple offer up to 15% discount on Macbook's /iMacs/ Mac Mini and usually the case especially form an Apple retail store is you get a % discount of accessories apple care etc when you buy them with Mac hardware. We found you get better prices on iPods/iPads/iPhones by going through a third party like Misco or BT for Business.

I phoned the business number for our local Apple store and they seemed quite keen to help. I was asking about iPods and iPads and the salesman said they would match any other offers and if we were buying in bulk, he would put together a quote, which he implied would be discounted from the standard price.

They are obviously upping there game as they want the business. See what you can get out of them it would be interesting to see the discount they offer.

If you speak to the business manager at a branch then you will get more from them, they matched our quote from a reseller last time. Though when someone got a quote for 600 iPads, then gave us 2% off only but then claimed the VAT was part of the discount...
