Tomb Raider one I've been wondering about for awhile. Good to get it for free, now I can stop wondering and just (find the time to) play it!

 

You won't regret it, great reboot for the series, only hope the sequel doesn't let us down (whenever that may be...)

Yeah the latest one, I thought it was great. When you say the old ones, have you played them recently or are you going from memory? I have played them recently, and they haven't aged well!

There's not much Tomb Raiding in it ironically... but it's an enjoyable game. I expect some more Raiding in further remakes.

I only ever got has far as the Midas Hand in the first Tomb Raider, not even half way I believe. Recently tried Tomb Raider Anniversary and got almost to the same point before giving up. I remember being really into the first Tomb Raider on PS1 and can't remember why I stopped playing at the Midas Hand level. But with Anniversary I was really getting pee'd off at the constant backwards and forwards across a level to solve a puzzle. The one I stopped at had you climb to the bottom of a pit only to have to climb back up the middle colimn again to do something else. That and Lara seemed uncontrollerable. I want to jump straight and she goes left, or falls down instead of jumping back. Arrggghhhh!!!!!

Nostalgia, I love the whole feeling of Tomb Raider, I recently went through Tomb Raider 2. Loved it.

 

I feel the new Lara Croft is just... pathetic in comparison. Plus all the quick time events get right on my nerves

1.7 Firmware to add new features

 

1.7 update soon including:

 

- HDCP off (capture direct video at native output resolution from HDMI)

- Share button saving to USB (no more stupid social accounts required, no compression)

- An integrated video editor

- Longer video clips (currently 15 mins)

- Twitch archiving of broadcasts

- Upgrading Twitch and Ustream resolution to 720p

- some more stuff not mentioned yet.

 

Infamous: Second Son is out Friday. An openworld game with superpowers and it looks utterly stunning (especially considering openworld).

Not that I have anything to record... but at least now I CAN record random BS when the mood takes me.

To share to USB is confirmed for a later FW update.

 

A trick to get around social crap now is to send a message (and attach image) to a friend via PSN, then open the message on the PSN phone app and save the image to your phone. You can then have an uncompressed 1080p image to do what you want with it. Twtr and FB compress the image.

P.S. Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes is awesome, for something that can be 'completed' in 1 hour, I've put over 18 hours into now. The gameplay is awesome and the open world nature makes the world non linear and fun. Hard mode is actually a challenge and it being constant 60fps is great. Love it. The Phantom Pain is going to be epic.

I think you're looking at US PS+. We have Sly Cooper and ISS for PS3 this month. Sure we had Arkham City around Christmas time.

 

Mercenary Kings looks good. Really like Metal Slug and this looks very similar.

Yeah but all the side stuff of Skyrim doesnt involve simply changing day/night/weather and guard placement for repeated runs. All the review's say it is very good but most also say £30 is too much for too little time but £20 is close to the mark.

Visually it looks good and the gameplay is there, just far too little but at least they killed the preorder price of £39.99.

There's 4/5 other missions with different objectives that aren't just day/night and guard placement changes.

 

Its £25 on digital and retail stores now and it

cost me £23 to pre-order (price dropped in last week). Gameplay is there, the best MGS yet. Its as good action game as stealth. Personally I feel it's worth £25, but I love MGS.. Playing it now, nearly 20 hours now!!
