Does anyone have a library of extremism / terrorism related keywords that they are able to share with me?

We have been asked to set up some specific reports to help meet the Prevent requirements but struggling to come up with keywords.

Thanks

There was some discussion here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/163814-monitoring-internet-usage.html

Various schools and filter vendors (including ourselves) have asked many government agencies and police for such a library and unfortunately it seems that those agencies are unwilling to work with anyone to produce such a list. Therefore, every filtering vendor has had to do their own (extensive) research to come up with their own keywords and will almost universally keep that research proprietary. I really do feel that if the government is going to place these kinds of filtering/monitoring requirements on schools, they should also be willing to work with the schools and vendors; especially given that the intelligence services certainly already have keyword libraries that are far more comprehensive than anyone else.

Ok, this is what I've put together... This is a list based on the FBI and GCHQ "search terms most likely to get you put under surveillance" plus additions from the news and discussions with other NMs

after all this the EduGeek stand at BETT will have a few extra people hanging around looking like they aren't spies

maybe we should all turn up in disguise just in case we are being monitored

Its behaviours that need to be monitored. What sorts of articles are read and covers actions/interactions had by people who were becoming radicalised? Match to those patterns and flag to the CP team.

Obviously there are sites that should be blocked ought right but unless keyword blocking is applied with clever contextual analysis it is such a blunt tool that there will be significant collateral damage.

Donald Trump?

We're currently only monitoring for radicalisation, not weeding out the supporters of morons. Although I suspect the thought police will be along about that soon enough.

It's as if the whole idea is a knee jerk reaction from incompetent people trying to get votes from racists.

Wonder if there's 1000 times more money spent on preventing road accidents, and 100000 times more money spent on preventing pollution deaths.

The actual requirements of PREVENT on schools is very very similar to their requirements under pre-existing SafeGuarding guidance.

There should be almost no more work involved.

If however CP teams want to monitor behaviour in the digital domain then the third party vendors need to up their game to google level tracking monitoring and analysis.
