timbo343 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Who will be watching this on thursday? Apparently its filmed at thornhill acadamy near dewsbury. Wondered if anyone on here has been there or worked there?
free780 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Apart from Essex being a rm school by the looks of it. *ducks*
free780 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 *ouch* Will I have to pay for support for that? 2
FN-GM Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Will be watching it. They asked our school to film this a good number of times, not sure why someone would let them in.
mrtechsystems Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Deffo will be watching this one should be interesting
happymeal Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Educating Yorkshire? This is fire - it makes it look like daylight inside, but at night...it's very hot... *ducks quickly*
Novalee Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 What channel is it on? 4? I enjoyed the one in Essex, found it to be really interesting and showed how school life really is, not how a lot of parents and people who don't work in a school seem to imagine.
john Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 For those bashing Yorkshire, I am sure that @timbo343 and @tom_newton will join me in burning you at the stake we are not that backwards in Yorkshire Smoothwall is a Yorkshire company so that says how up to date we are It is Sky+ HD'd (to see that girl in the advert who shaved off her eyebrows and drew them back on's fake orange glow in true glow style LOL)
happymeal Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Typical. You show a man fire, and now they want to stop you telling anyone else! Thank god they haven't discovered pitchforks.... On another note - can anyone remember the name of the BBC3 documentary about the children's mental health unit on a few months back?
Dom_ Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I used to work there a few years ago - really looking forward to this! Really good atmosphere there and has to be my favorite place to work yet . Quite funny seeing their friends reactions to them being on TV on facebook - instant celebrities lol
timbo343 Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 Nah we arent that backwards in yorkshire, it just helps sometimes lol. I keep laughing at the adverts when the students says i havent got those numbers on the bottom of my screen, teacher says they arent numbers, they are letters! Yep, its on channel 4 on thursday, i forget what time though but its scheduled on the pvr. 1
john Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I keep laughing at the adverts when the students says i havent got those numbers on the bottom of my screen, teacher says they arent numbers, they are letters! Must admit I do like that and the one that is I hate maths and the teacher yes Maths hates you as well
Max_Power Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 There is another one on as well on Sky - Harrow School I think it was that was advertised?
john Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 There is another one on as well on Sky - Harrow School I think it was that was advertised? That could be interesting - Harrow: A Very British School - Sky1 HD a comparison of a very expensive private fee paying establishment VS the local comprehensive. I expect @Little-Miss has been to Harrow given her future virtual husband (once he is painted Purple and dyed his hair purple) attended it.
Ad93 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 On another note - can anyone remember the name of the BBC3 documentary about the children's mental health unit on a few months back? It was called Don't Call me Crazy. I'm glad you reminded me of this it looks worth watching judging by the adverts. A 1
sonofsanta Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Educating Essex was the first TV programme I could remember seeing that was a realistic portrayal of life in a school. That deputy head was ace. So yes, I shall be watching The BBC3 programme on mental health for teenagers made me a sad panda. It was very sympathetically made, though, a real eye opener.

hawc Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 First section over. What do people think. The way that head handeled those smokers was brilliant. Bingo!
