We will soon have a ton of laptops returned to us from being loaned out. They will need rebuilding and we would like to use our SCCM and one of our Task Sequences. The issue being the laptops don't have network ports. I don't believe a ethernet adapter will work. I have tried using the bootable media options in SCCM but this fails when it tries to run with partitioning error. Is this doable, and if so how? Cheers for any help.

I have just installed the SCCM 1702 and have the SCEP (endpoint protection) licences. I'm reading that I can't use SSEP with Windows 10 and am supposed to use "Windows Defender ATP" instead. The issue is that it would seem to be a different product that needs a different solution.... Am I expected to purchase 2 different AV solutions from Microsoft now? I'm currently running windows 8.1 but was hoping to go to 10.... Maybe I'll stick with Nod32 and cancel the SSEP deployment. EDIT: Corrected TYPO

Hi All, I am getting a black screen with cursor after deploying Windows 10 OSD SCCM task sequence. Not certain what the cause is. If anyone has come across this issue or similar, would you mind sharing your solution ? Background OS Version - Windows 10 - 1803 SCCM 2016 - CB (latest Update) ADK - Latest Version Boot Image (x64) - latest version - imported from ADK --- I have created a OSD Task Sequence in SCCM, with the basics - 1) Partition Disk 2)Apply OS 3)Apply Windows (I have specced an unattend.xml) 4)Apply Network (basic DNS & domain extension) 5)Apply Drivers (have enabled - unattended install of unsigned drivers) 5) Setup Windows & ConfigMgr (have set SMSMP, DNSSUFFX, SMSCACHESIZE) 6)Install Applications (setup as packages rather than Applications) .Net 3.5 Chrome Impero Google File Stream VLC 7-zip The process appears to complete without errors, however the computer gets stuck on a black screen with just a cursor. If you force the computer to switch off using the power button & then power it back on again, the PC continues fine. The OOBE appears and goes through (doesnt ask for anything due to the unattend.xml) and then drops you at the Windows Login screen. Once you login, the applications have installed fine & all the correct drivers appear to have been picked up. Looking in Event Viewer - I can't see any obvious errors. The smsts.log does show a couple of yellow flags, as follows, but I haven't been able to pin down if they are relevant RegQueryValueExW is unsuccessful for Software\Microsoft\SMS\Task Sequence, SMSTSEndProgram GetTsRegValue() is unsuccessful. 0x80070002. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Cheers Andy

Hi All I'm fairly new to SCCM and am looking to use the Endpoint protection to replace Sophos AV. I'm currently running windows 7 on our workstations and have successfully deployed Endpoint protection to some test PC's and have got the definitions updating nicely. I'm struggling however to get it to install on our wireless laptops, It just never seems to go on over the wi-fi but will if I plug the network cable in. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I'm doing wrong??

Unfortunately, in the new EPCM environment, the built-in tool to install WiFi settings onto laptops has now been deprecated, and only works in InTune. We do not use InTune, so I have created an application in SCCM to install this using the NETSH command and an xml file. Whilst the settings install correctly, the only option that I can see for detecting correct installation is the registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WcmSvc\CMPOL and that the CMPOL key contains the SSID. I can open the CMPOL key and confirm that it contains the SSID, but the SCCM 'Contains' function does not seem to be able to see it, and so the application installation is reported at failed. So I have 2 questions 1) Has anyone else successfully used this detection method? (bear in mind that there are carriage returns in this value, which may be causing the issue) 2) Where else might SCCM successfully find the SSID to confirm installation?
