  1. Thanks I may actually do this, especially as he appears to have reqorked what the packages offer My current host (xilo.net) has been very shoddy on the support front SO far they have managed to: Bill me for a addon to something I cancelled months ago Lock me out of my own account area (not fixed in over a month now) Close several tickets without completing them and they won't say if JDK will run on their servers, nor will they give me refund if I give it a go and it doesn't
  2. For Jan I have 1 Mini-site (Building Development) Content of Plone Site (Arts in the Village) Accommodation Site (Take 360 Pictures, and content, confirm redesign with SMT) Troubleshoot and test upgrade scripts for the ruddy tax increase (mistake here could cost millions) Retest upgrade of the Online Accommodation System (cancelled this last year, due to a single bug), again a mistake here could cost the department millions must be in place by 1st of Feb Meetings with SMT to discuss Online Shop project Get ready for opening of applications on 1st Feb On top of this I have numerous meetings about other systems, writing PIDs for new projects and I'm currently organising the business relationship between our resident ISP and the students, Oh and second line support for the commercial systems.
  3. I try to avoid any hosts with the word 'unlimited' in their specs. As they tend to be henging there bets that you won't go over what they can provide
  4. I started my own VB forum as one of my many, I wonder if I can do this... projects. Anyway long story short I need a decent host with decent support that has RTMP enabled (for FlashChat6). Also needs around 5gb+ of space, 100gb+ of Bandwidth and cPanel (love cPanel), looking for one @ around £25-30 per month. Anyone know of such a host? preferably in the UK (to limit the 'hops') Also my current host says I can get RTMP if I get a VPS, but my *nix knowledge is most likely subpar (I'm happy copying shell code that someone else has written in a tutorial). Any recommendations for this? I found a decent how to install here - http://www.videochat-scripts.com/tag/rtmp/ and it seems easy enough...
  5. Out of interest has anyone got a guide for parents to install filtering at home?
  6. Just thought I'd bump this as many other people are now using spiceworks and I may just get away without being accused of 'working for them'.
  7. Will be looking to apply for this Although will have to have a think about job security with BSF on the horizon. Good luck to anyone else who applies. Out of interest what is likely to happen to this post when BSF roles in? Edit: Whens the closing date?
  8. Not really, the portal is your users backend it allows the submission of tickets and some knowledge type articles. Not many people use it because it's very basic at the moment. I beleive the biggest use of Spiceworks is being an email based helpdesk.
  9. Maybe take her up to Edinbourgh/Dublin over new year? I hear they are supposed to be the best places in the UK for new year merryness.
  10. I got my gf Bon-Jovi tickets for their opening night. Maybe you could get her something you can do together?
  11. I'm 6"1 and find the ford fiesta fine, in terms of space i've moved twice with it and was able to get all my kit in it.
  12. Ford fiesta zetec 1.25, you should get a decent model for £1000. Reliable, quick (for a 1.25), and every garage i've been to they seem to jump on the chance to work on it (something about yamaha engines). Had mine 2 years (S reg) and did a hour round trip to work everyday and it's only had one problem (exhaust rusted through).
  13. Are you going to claim for it... I wrote a car off in my teens and after working out how much it was actually worth minus my excess, decided to give the car away/keep it for spares and not claim. Worked out cheaper in the long run as I didn't have a claim against me, to increase my premiums for the next 5 years.
  14. Yes the bird and the otters... and I'm pretty sure my cat used my coat arm to open a door (coat hanging on the door handle). So Primates, otters, birds, and my cat.
  15. What is your website based on HTML? PHP? CMS? The solution the head found at my old school was to phone me at 6 in the morning to put it on...
  16. I used to do this for PPE (Halls was to small to fit in all the parents) Windows Media Encoder (free) and a cheap USB camera connected to a laptop, get that to stream to a server and from there you can distrubute a link for the feed (MMS://server: port). You also have the advantage of recording it as well.
  17. OFC it's a voting trip you'd have to be a fool not to see it but on the same page you don't see any of the other parties doing it...
  18. Brown beds down in Afghan war zone - Yahoo! News UK May not be that into politics but he has earnt some points in my book for having the cojones to stay overnight in Afghanistan... I mean if your going to send people to a war zone, going there yourself is the least you can do.
  19. sounds like their other ride 'Hex'
  20. Teheheh, thats what she said:getmecoat:
  21. Is that not an issue with any IT Network? Lots of people on here have Sib running without admin rights. Sure they would be happy to help...
  22. ROFL +1 ... Lovely mazda though, although there are oil stains on your drive or what look like them (to do with the mazda?)
  23. I've had it running on windows xp using WAMP. Did you try a reinstall? of both xampp & xibo. Also well worth asking on the xibo bug forum, you will proberly get a response in a few hours.
  24. Best take a backup of your website using Joomlapack (linked in a thread further down, but a google should bring it up. Will take a backup of your database, and files, then zip it all up for you and put it where you want it. Best of all you can automate the process.
