Hello, I'm trying to do some analysis on homework data coming out of EduLink. Does anyone currently have a document they would be willing to share, in how they use the data to get results. Or a suggestion of how to use it to form a meaningful analysis. The SLT want percentages of teachers issued and completed etc, but I just can't get that from the export. I'm not really sure what I can do with the data. Thank you, much appreciated.

Thank you all for your responses. The meeting went well and our Director of Operations/Finance wants to try them, especially with the savings. We haven't had much luck with Capita help this year so fingers crossed we get better from them.

Hello, Thank you for that. So, would I make normal aspects, one for each subject needing a comment. And then instead of a grade/marks I'd make them a comment? Wow, simpler than I was expecting.

Our Maths department has asked for it. They need the student details along with email addresses, year groups, maths class and date of birth. I don't think email addresses are on the student list fields, are they? *runs away to check!*

Hello When in SIMS, I am trying to make a report show me just the Maths classes for each student. I have entered "MA" in the subject code for filter students but this hasn't worked. Any ideas what I might be missing. #simsnewbie

Hello, I've discovered the sixth form is writing references for UCAS in word and saving in desktop folders for each student. I feel that SIMS could do this in a comment marksheet/report set up. I have only used it with normal marksheets. Is it the same, or different area to set up? I can't seem to find the right handbook.

Hello, Our library currently uses the Capita Reading cloud. However it seems to be a lot of money for what we actually use it for. Could anyone suggest what they currently use. We just want a basic, check books in and out, resource list that can be searched and potentially be able to chase missed loans etc. Thank you

Hello, I'm trying to help our Interim sixth form head, as she's been thrown into a Governors meeting. Is there a way, similar to how SIMS creates the individual reports that a report or marksheet can be created that show subject one grades etc, subject two etc, subject three etc. So student per row and then subjects along the top but minimal columns. - - - Updated - - - If not, any suggestions how I can make the marksheet create one in excel?

What do you mean by expose? Edulink has a full demo so you can have a look.

The Assessment is basically a grade summary table. Made similar to individual reports in SIMS.

Hello, We are looking at putting together a more in depth analysis report for our cover and absences. Possibly pasting in the SIMS statistics reports. However, I'm not to sure how to go about setting it up. Has anyone done something similar and wouldn't mind me looking at for some inspiration and example. SLT would like to look at how much of each type is covered, how much cover each staff member has had, how much was needed to be external and therefore has a cost implication, how much term on term. Those types of things. I'd much appreciate the help. Thank you. (New DM)

Ahhh the backwards P!! I know what you mean. That shows page breaks and things. (Does anyone know it's actual name?!) Oh ok, I'll maybe try that. I was so paranoid I just remade everything from scratch, so I knew I'd made the links properly. One issue with inheriting a system and other processes.

We are considering it. We're looking at moving away as much as we can, so at the moment looking at alternatives for our Apps. Yes, I was told (after the fact) that is how they had been made, with good intentions. (Inherited!) Is there a way in the future to update the result set in the reports, if cloning? Backwards filled?? What is that, that would be helpful to check?

No idea. I called on the 28th March at 9:13 with an urgent issue, as our Individual reports (emailed to parents) were pulling through the previous data sets, even though the template showed the current one and everything was right. On the phone I was told "sometimes the templates get confused" and that it would be passed on up as a major issue. I received an email yesterday at 3pm asking for more details... In the time I've recreated the templates from scratch and re-sent everything. I started in August and found out in December (after a sales visit!) we supposedly have a Customer Support Manager in our package. I've emailed him about three times since then, and got one response back, four weeks later. I don't email him now. :-(

Hello, Strange question, is there a way in SIMS of discovering who created a staff account. A parent has created in SIMS as a staff member and we wanted to check who made the error, so we can make sure they have some further training. Thank you.

Oh ok, because there's hundreds of them I have to scroll past to populate the Individual reports, so I'd just like them to be removed from that list to make it clearer to see. I'll phone them then and wait several weeks for a response. Thanks for your help!

I know. That's the thing. When I go to delete them it shows no results attached to them but then tells me I hasn't deleted them. I don't know why.

Hello, I'm trying to do some house keeping during the break. I'm trying to remove some of the unwanted aspects (some never used) However there are hundreds of one with a prefix of "CAS" that seem to have been imported. How can I get rid of them. I doesn't seem to allow me to remove them. Thanks!
