    I called their reception and asked if there was an update the conversation lasted 20 seconds, no harm done and nobody's time was wasted. and their update was some time ago so its not like I called them when they just announced an incident...

    Anyone here uses either Securly or Smoothwall cloud filter ? I had a recent demo with securly and will have one with smoothwall next.

    Hold your horses people, nothing wrong with trying. recpetion can just say no its no big deal what's the harm ? I've done it before with other schools and had some responses. If i had a cyber incident myself and someone called me from another school to ask for advise I would be happy to help!

    is there any updates on this ? I tried calling them to ask about this but I couldn't get through to them. I agree that whenever things like that happen there should be some communication to help other schools avoid the same issue.

    This will help with the granular blocking but it sadly wont fix their biggest issue of not categorising sites correctly, even explicitly obvious ai sites are not classed as ai sites and this is after blocking the ai bundle that LGFL offers

    How does decryption work for guests or iPads that are taken home ? The boredhumans site is a weird one as lgfl is adamant on not categorising it in a way that blocks the whole site, something hopefully they can clarify tomorrow

    update on this, they are saying that the http one doesn't get categorised as it leads to nothing, they have now updated that too

    I just checked that spyce site and still shows as general and my ticket was closed stating this was resolved, i have re-opened it now

    its too crazy, some websites even link to many sites that are all obviously not appropriate - you'd think the categorisation system would use some logic to check the site before allowing access, its nuts

    to be clear Mark, the core issue here is your systems are not categorising websites correctly and this has nothing to do with my specific school setup - I have also raised another website BoredHumans.com - Free AI Tools which does have links to various inappropriate links within its main domain and yet the logic I'm getting from your team is that only specific sub links are blocked and not even for all schools only for those that have https decryption. it makes no sense to not block the site as a whole as it has more than one link within its subdomain that is not appropriate, yet the message I'm getting is that all schools that do not have https decryption can still access it and the dodgy links within it are still available, only schools with https decryption wont be able to access it, a logic I do not understand and hope you can clarify tomorrow.

    if anyone here has the same issues as I do with the categorization and are an LGFL customer it might be worth speaking with Mark as I am meeting him tomorrow via teams so from my side I dont mind if you joined the meeting as well ? Mark - it might be good to clarify the issues with the bad categorization and your chats with Netsweeper to anyone else interested ? I don't mind from my side who joins especially if they have the same issues as i do, I have submitted to your support many more websites all having the same issue

    There is nothing to defend as for example dlsite.com was categorised as a general/games site yet sophos has it as an adult/porn site - its been that kind of site for 20+ years even more based on the archive.org cache

    Hi Mark - I look forward to the meeting, another website LGFL does not see as an adult site is dlsite.com yet sophos clearly classes it as a porn site so would be good to get an explanation of this

    its really bad it sees pleasures.ai as a general site too until I raised it with them, the spyce it saw it as a general site too and I have asked for it to be recategorised

    Have you considered any alternatives to Netsweeper ? Its really weird such dedicated systems are bad at blocking adult sites or bad at wrongly classifying a site as an adult site! If you don’t mind me asking, how much do you pay for Netsweeper ? And do you have a dedicated account manager to raise those issues with ?

    I didn’t see that essay grader that’s crazy! I also asked them to recategorise those sites along with several other sites, I get they use Netsweeper but I don’t see that as an excuse or me being harsh on them. It is appreciated to challenge them to do better as they are the service providers for safe internet and they are big enough to fix this issue, at least that’s how I see it. I spent very little time and identified many sites that are not categorised correctly, I don’t think LGFL should ignore this issue and should hire dedicated staff to specifically search for those things and block or categorise correctly.

    Here's some examples of adult content or at least what I class as adult content - all I accessed from within lgfl Unfiltered NSFW AI Chat – Interactive AI Characters & AI Companions another example below, LGFL classes it as general spyce.ai

    from what i can see that is harder than simply searching the ai site for the images already made by others, I just found way more sites and most/all have the same theme

    to be honest I'm quite shocked of the content I'm seeing and baffled how I can spend an hour and identify dozens of adult focused ai sites all of which have the wrong categories on LGFL and many completely unblocked, surely a mix of smart scripting and a dedicated team can pick this stuff up and many more and deploy counter measures or re-categorise those sites, its baffling tbh

    I can only tell you based on what I saw and it did not take alot to get to those images even from simple prompts - openart is another example

    nobody said bundle it and call it a day, but if an ai site generates adult content with a simple prompt it should be blocked, I don't understand your analogy with word or paint its completely irrelevant and unrelated to web filtering by your logic a pencil can do the same
