As you probably already know from google it looks like an account security/permissions issue. Have you played with changing the account, ie. domain account/local etc? Have you checked permission settings? Im a novice at sql so apologies if this is obvious stuff, Ive just started getting acquainted with sql2008 while installing mylittlehelpdesk...

Last week we phoned a local networking company saying we needed some networking done for our textiles room which was implementing sewing machines that can link to PCs and also for our new cashless catering service and a few other bits n bobs around the school. Mainly switches/ports. The job was started and finished on Monday this week, all to a fantastic standard and very cheap. This was all done by a local company who we employ to do our networking, rather than A-Z, since they are reliable, local and actually interested in forming a strong bond with the school. Imo, smaller companies will lose the much needed business from their local schools, thanks to BSF and this will do to the industry what Tesco has done to the local delicatessen and butchers. Would BSF be able to provide such a service at the drop of a hat, within a few days? Or would there be bureaucracy and a longer wait time? I'm actually interested in an answer to the above question by the way!

Yep thats what I used, this doesn't solve GP deployment though. Ive been using this method as I explained before here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows/9492-adobe-creative-suite-3-a-2.html#post263940 But does anyone know a better way without using a flimsy reg query script?

Tried the patch as mentioned above. Did install ok, but still having the same problem. The problem itself isn't entering the serial number, but afterwards when Flash tries to load, it gets to the splash screen and then doesn't get any further. Can't see any macromedia processes running except macromedia_licensing.exe. I may have to sort out a new image

Hi all, I'm having a really aggravating problem with Macromedia Studio 2004 MX. Firstly, this issue seems to spring up completely randomly and has affected five of our rooms, but mysteriously others are OK. If I start up fireworks and dreamweaver everything runs ok and they open as expected. When I try and open Flash though Im greeted with a "Your Trial has Ended" Dialogue box. This can sometimes come up with two different boxes, one giving me two options (continue trial and enter key) and another with one option (Enter key). I've WDS'd a row of machines in the afflicted room and the problem is still there. This is happening on two seperate images, so I don't think its a badly built image. I think its more likely a bad package. Anyway, if I then enter the correct serial, it attempts to boots, gets to the splash screen and then nothing happens, the program fails to load. If I restart and try again, the same thing happens. This makes Flash completely unusable but the rest of the programs are fine. Anyone had a similar problem? This is really annoying me now. It would be pointless for you to sign an AUP that you obtained yourself without first giving it to the school for their senior management to then sign off themselves. Without senior managements say so it would be useless. Why would they ask you to sort it out? Surely thats their job? If the school don't want the laptops going home then thats their decision, but if they allow students to take them home then its really up to them to provide the necessary policies. Can you elaborate?

I thought the OP just needed a normal deployment method? Looked to me like there were no orginal installs of other software.. I've always hated Adobe's way of doing things but if I was in that situation I would probably start from scratch and remove all traces of the software and start over. I know thats probably not applicable.

Thanks for the responses. Im going to have a bash at Sophos although a little apprehensive considering some of the comments I've seen here! As I mentioned this is for my server box at home and wanted to avoid enterprise stuff and see if there were any 'home' solutions available. Will try NOD32, Im a big fan of ESET and really like their antivirus suites. From what I've tried so far though, it looks like 'alterations' need to be made to get most products working on 08. Shame. Im downloading the free one as we speak. From what I gather most virus scanners will do an OS check during install. Ive read about people who have managed to get Kaspersky working on server08 but only after altering some reg keys and altering the programs install checks using hex editors and the like. Was hoping it wouldn't come to that but will try avast and see what happens..

Apologies if this is a bit of a novice question but has anyone been successful in finding an antivirus product suitable for running on Server 2008? I am preferably looking for a non-enterprise solution because admittedly this is for my server at home. I know that is not the normal way to go about things but I dont have hundreds of pounds to spend on the specially tailored antivirus products. I just finished clearing 180 cases of the vundo trojan from it and want to prevent any future occurrences. Weirdly I never really use ie on the server and have my network set up so that all internet access from my clients go straight to my router and don't touch the server. I have no idea how they got there to be honest. Maybe it is unecessary to have any virus software on it, and this was just a one off, but I hold pretty much all my data on it and don't want any further infections. Any advice?

Metcheck never fails. BBC Weather is a joke imo, never seems to be right. Oh and don't get me started on their use of screenwalls. All I can concentrate on is the huge difference between each screens colour and the massive grid line effect. Is it sad that I actually made an official complaint on their website about that? I think I know the answer already..
