I did have a RaspberryPi setup feeding into FR24 before I moved house - really should get it all set up again, perhaps with a better antenna for better coverage.

Approved the enablement update on WSUS earlier and tested on a few machines - seems find in the sense that it doesn't appear to have borked anything.

Some decent Dynabook models about at the minute. Can pick up an 11th-gen i5, 8GB, 512G SSD spec for about £450 +VAT Edit: Didn't clock it was a personal purchase!

Sounds like a lot of people had back luck with their batches of devices! We've bought trolleys and put ours to use back in the academies, with a limited number still used to help those without devices at home. Some of the higher spec devices have also been issued to LSAs etc.

Damn. We've just had the same issue pop up after a week of fighting Sophos - it's completely killed running applications over the network, print driver installation and now this. Infuriating!

Our MAT is moving over to Teams as our telephony platform, and I've moved one of my schools over so far. We're working with a third-party provider to create the hosted system per site, then just licences to sort at our end. Using Yealink MP56 handsets along with an additional number of 'soft' users accessing the system from their work devices. Worked pretty well so far and is certainly cheaper as an overall solution than what we had previously. My other site will be moving over in the autumn.

Blimey. What APs are you speccing? We recently purchased a load of MR44s at about a quarter of that price along with 10 years licensing for the price of five etc.

Meraki. We're currently in the process of finishing off a wireless upgrade: 119 new MR44 access points across two academies. Up until recently one site was using Ruckus, one an older Meraki setup.

I've logged a call with our support provider as since we rolled out the latest update we're consistently seeing our server running at 100% CPU. Even after shrinking log files etc it's still being absolutely swamped. It's a VM with 6 vCPUs running on a Xeon Silver 4210, however the chap I spoke to suggested this doesn't have the single core performance required for SIMS/SQL, and suggested upping the CPU count to 10! I think it's more likely we need some housekeeping/maintenance of the database, and for us it suspiciously became an issue after the Autumn 2021 release was deployed.

Wow. Well it it makes you feel any better, they also sent a couple of batches of Dynabooks our way, 95% of which had duff batteries.

Really? We've found them really responsive and have redeployed them on-site as fully domain-built laptops for students and LSAs. We got a mix of 60/120GB SSD models, perhaps others got different.

I was looking at 3CX but Trust is moving to Teams for telephony so I'm now trying to push ahead with that to try and get my sites away from Avaya/ISDN hell.

Is that the backup folder within program files\SQL? SIMS will generate backups each time updates are done and patches are installed, so it can build up. Generally when clearing that down I leave the most recent just in case, but all the historic ones can go. Sorry, I clicked the reply button without clocking the image you'd posted.

Had the same email I think. What this means with regard the previously suggested mitigations I'm not quite sure.
