  1. We've had frustrations with Senso ever since we moved to it 2/3 years ago. V2 improved remote connectivity performance a little bit, but was missing some very basic features when we were first prompted to move over to it. The pace of development there seems incredibly slow and both techs and teaching staff have lost patience with it. I've got one site moving over to NetSupport's classroom.cloud and think we'll likely move the rest later in the year.
  2. Definitely leverage the DfE standards in terms of making the case for your preferred vendor and setup. I know there's a requirement in there for switches to be able to be centrally managed - no idea myself but can TP-Link offer this? Also worth ensuring the risk register is up to date with regard the existing setup - sometimes wheels only start turning when some red appears on these documents and local leaders start having to answer for it to trust staff or governors.
  3. Senso works quite well for us - V2 has seen some improvements that have resolved a few remaining issues.
  4. Can leave it disabled, but remember to reset the password regularly - use one of the MS scripts to manage the process.
  5. It's absolute nonsense - name and shame those numpties!
  6. Christ I'm having flashbacks here. My first job in education was looking after a network running CC3. Was bizarre and I leaned on RM support a lot - sometimes they helped, often they restarted servers during main school hours.
  7. I've requested access so let's see if the wait was worth it. Staff don't like Senso as much as Impero but from my point of view the pricing and the ability to manage loads of sites from one console appeals, so I'm hoping they've made some much needed improvements here.
  8. First time I've attended BETT at that venue, and did have a decent time looking at some new stuff and catching up with existing suppliers. My impression is that a lot of companies seem to swerve the event itself and plot up somewhere close by, then try to lure you over for a chat or a demo, so the exhibition itself is shrinking as a result.
  9. I think there's a GPO for known sharepoint/onedrive folders to be synced for users. Or users have gone into the folder on a browser and clicked 'sync' and it's been added to their OneDrive synced folders.
  10. We have seen a lot of devices blue-screening in recent weeks. Had suspected a dodgy update however we do use Senso and have previously had similar issues with the WFP driver causing issues with Sophos so wonder if it's a combination of the two screwing us over again. Grrr.
  11. Not sure what version of Impero you're on, but I know we had a similar issue and it was update KB5011048 that was causing the issue. Removing that allowed the service to restart and installs to complete. We are out of Impero support so running an older version.
  12. We've had a flurry of emails to schools this morning from ESS referencing this. Interesting times!

We bought four Dell C6100s from them a few years ago for a quite frankly incredible price. Also had extended support contracts with them in recent years and not had any issues.
  14. We're looking at SCOMIS - supposedly offer a much more robust solution than ESS themselves.
  15. Not any more. We're using Locker to create and manage class Teams, and anything outside of that needs to be requested via helpdesk to try and prevent duplication and keep control of naming conventions.
