[ms office - 2010] Similar Exchange user prompt
ReadTheNetwork replied to gerardsweeney's topic in Office Software
Would suppress recommended settings dialog work? GPO: User\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Office 2010\Miscellaneous\Supress recommended dialog -
Would it be easier to do it through Powershell for the login/logout script? It could input the required information and the teaching staff are still able to access this info through a PHP page? Might be more work to write the Powershell script though.

[1703, cu] Creating Mandatory Profiles 1703
ReadTheNetwork replied to mdrabble's topic in Windows 10
Using Mandatory profiles which seems to be working, however can take up to a minute for it to log on. If I use UE-V alongside mandatory profile would it speed up the logon? -
What is the script doing? Maybe there's another method which doesn't involve calling a php page?

[ms office - 2016] Office 365 Azure AD Connect
ReadTheNetwork replied to craigcamacho's topic in Office Software
Using administrator account delete C:\Users\username and in regedit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ select each folder and see if the ProfileImagePath key is the location of the profile you just deleted. Delete the folder so it can recreate when you next log in. -

Library Systems - What others are there?

I'd go down the web hosting route for library systems. Our school is becoming an academy so it'll be nice to see what resources are in the other schools within our MAT. -
Library Systems - What others are there?
ReadTheNetwork replied to newpersn's topic in Educational Software
I was thinking something similar, but for cashless canteen systems. Have you thought about an integrated cashless and registration system to go with your library system? You might get more customs Unfortunately, our school has to keep it as cheap as possible. Not a lot of budget at all. But starting with the library system, you can expend it to other projects too. For instance, auto user creation based from reports the MIS the school is using (Bromcom, SIMS, etc). -
I'm a mug :/. I'll just need to try and introduce it and hopefully she'll be just as happy . That'll hopefully save me some cash for next year! Witch, you're a star!

That looks pretty good, how much is the subscription? I think beachbody costs me around £100ish a year

I know it's an old thread, but my wife loves beachbody. She can do it at home before work. Must admit, I did a couple workouts and they are fun. I'm looking at getting fitter. Doing another Tough Mudder this year

[1703, cu] Successfully deploying Start Menus in Windows 10 v1703
ReadTheNetwork replied to sparkeh's topic in Windows 10
I usually deploy the applications using App 5. I run through the App-V creation then after the install I set up the start menu as I'd like it to be deployed as. Or usually there's a start menu property to help deployments using silent commands for exe or msi. -

Hi jmak, You can do Windows updates directly to the image without needing to recapture your image and you can do this every so many days without user involvement. This should save you some time and effort . Are you using SCCM/MDT, MDT or different imaging solution? If it's SCCM you can just right click your OS and select schedule updates. -
At the top within the you'll want to put .HOT { background-color: #ccf; } Then rather than using if statements you can use class @Value. This will then style your table properties (rows) however you want them to be styled. Easier to update. So for instance ... @Value being the value of the data you want to look up. - - - Updated - - - you can add more to the styles for the different row styles you would like to use.

Been a fair few years since I've done ASP, but you might want to use CSS .hot { background-color: #ccf; } ...

I don't think Windows 10 is bundled with Media Player or they are not supporting it? I've just been putting VLC on for them to use. - Or maybe it's just Windows Media Center that's not included. However, I think either way Microsoft are trying to move away from playing DVDs. -
Skype For Business > Moving Online
ReadTheNetwork replied to mitchell1981's topic in Enterprise Software
I'm starting to understand S4B a little better now. There's a little hate/like relationship with me and Skype 4 Business at moment. The ExclueScpLookup I mentioned is a registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\#.# \Outlook\AutoDiscover] "ExcludeScpLookup"=dword:00000001 Useful if you find users are connecting to onsite Exchange server rather than external. also edit to previous post: Then the Skype server will save the voice mail onto the online Exchange server Then the Skype server will save the voice mail onto the on site Exchange server -
Skype For Business > Moving Online
ReadTheNetwork replied to mitchell1981's topic in Enterprise Software
Hi Mitchell1981, We've got a hybrid at our school. So I think when I looked at the S4B online we'd have to pay more for this service, that's why we have it on site. Our environment for S4B is: An on site exchange server for members of staff who have voice mail. An on site Skype server Azure AD on site Everyone has the cloud online version of Exchange as their email account (including members of staff who have voice mail) Then the Skype server will save the voice mail onto the online Exchange server which forwards the email to the cloud based Office 365 Exchange (using the *@####.onmicrosoft.com) If you're going down this route of using the on site Exchange server to for voicemail only, then you might want to look at implementing the ExcludeScpLookup in your GPO so that users with voice mail will look at the external server rather than the onsite server. Let me know if you need a bit more info. -
I've had the same issue some time ago, and can't remember how I resolved it. I think it might have been as easy as a reboot, or reset the profile.
-
Also can you do it on a command prompt on the failing PC? tftp -i IPAddress4Server GET locationofboot.pxe (e.g. /boot/x64/boot.pxe)
-
Does it happen on multiple laptops of the same make/model? What version of SCCM? Is it a driver issue on the Boot PXE? Might be worth importing the PXE driver onto the PXE Boot OS

Hey all, not sure if it's been mentioned in this post. But you can get Windows start menu to work with roaming/mandatory (well mandatory - as that's what I'm using, and guessing it'll work with roaming). You'll need to give users permissions to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DeviceAccess. @gavinh http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/163160-w10-mandatory-profile-issues.html#post1397548 -
Probably I would just leave them on the SysVol. No real advantage on putting them locally on the computers. Probably make changes that little bit more difficult if anything.

SCCM - PXE Password for unknown
ReadTheNetwork replied to ReadTheNetwork's topic in Enterprise Software
Thanks for your input, decided not to bother. I did see you can run a password script on the task sequences, but for now I'm happy just to run it as it is. But I guess it doesn't really matter all that much .
