Morning Everyone, We are considering moving out staff users over to the Outlook 2010 client. As we use mandatory profiles we are having problems getting the signature to stick. Apparently it will not work with mandatory profiles so after a bit of research on the internet I found this code: mklink /d C:\users\{username}\appdata\roaming\microsoft\signatures U:\My Settings\signature\ Will I need to put this in a vbs script and get it to run on logon? Can anyone help me with this? I know staff will moan if they cannot get their signatures up and running. Many thanks Gareth

Evening, Several of you Edugeekers have been extremely supportive of my running by sponsoring the different runs, talking about weight loss and so on. So I though I'd share with you the news that today I was chosen out of ~2600 other runners to attend the Runners World 26.2 Paris Marathon Bootcamp. You can read all about it here: Runner's World UK 50 of us have been chosen. From what I know about last years, they will whittle it down to 15 and then to 5. The lucky 5 will get trained by ASICS and Runners World to run in the Paris Marathon in April. Fingers crossed. Gareth P.S. Evening all, Has anyone out there bought a Leapfrog Ultra for their kids? My boy is 3 years old and has been using my ipad since he was two (bad daddy?) - but he really wants a Leappad Ultra - has anyone bought one? How are they? How do they compare to the Leapfrog 2 Good? Bad? Gareth

Oh how annoying - have mounted the .vhd in WIndows 7 and it tells me two of the volumes need formatting. Yet they are fine on the host PC. Seems the P2V software isn't that good. Gutted. Gareth

Both yesterday and today I've been reading about this now infamous website called Silkroad that has only been accessible through the TOR web browser. I feel really naive in that I'd never heard of it. Had anyone else? Yes I've heard of Tor and of bitcoin but never Silkroad. The Guardian reporter today said she spend 10 minutes on Google finding references to this sort of site - I wouldn't know where to start. I mean you can hardly type into Google 'Illegal hidden darknet site selling drugs' (or can you?). Guess I'm just naive in the ways of the web. Did anyone else know about it? Gareth

Hi All, I've just taken a P2V conversion of a Windows 2003R2 32 bit server using the free tool I found from SysInternals and downloaded from the MS site. I have created a .vhd of the server and converted it to .vhdx using the 2012 console. However when I try and import it, the file cannot be seen. I believe it's due to a missing .xml file. Does anyone know how I can go about creating the .xml file? Is there anything out there that will help me? Should the P2V software have created the .xml file? I feel I'm missing something, Regards Gareth

Evening People, A question for those running HyperV 2012 on HP hardware with HP SANS - do you use the Microsoft supplied iSCSI drivers or would you use the HP supplied ones? Gareth

I agree totally but we also need to be aware that if a system is setup properly then there is not a lot the kids can do. We're not exactly running MI6 or storing military secrets. Maybe it will shoot me in the arse but as it's only in my room which I monitor then it's not an issue for me. I understand how bad a security breach can be. If pupils can access sensitive, personal data on staff just by opening .exe from a Virtual Studio project directory then is that stuff really safe? Educate me. I'm not too arrogant that I will not listen to how we could be exposed. I am just a teacher after all ;-) Gareth

We had this issue but in the end I set then allow .exe from their MyDocuments\Visual Studio 2010\Projects directory - it's only available in my room. I"m not a fan of lock and block. Don't agree with it. I understand why - but don't like it. Gareth

Afternoon All, Our domain is controlled centrally by the LEA and each school has it's own OU. It is currently 2008R2 based. We want to install SCCM 2012 but are told we cannot because it is an enterprise product that advertises itself across the whole domain so in theory could have every computer reporting back to it. Is there any way we can install this and only have it listen to a certain OU - that is our Workstation OU? That was it would not affect the whole site but would let us take advantage of the tools it offers. Many thanks Gareth

Hi Zag, Like I say the only minor issue is with the rear of the phone. No cracks but little blemishes where the dust or grime has dug into the case. I've had a case on it since day 1 but it has still happened on the phone. Gareth

iPhone 5 - £300 Black 02 Unlocked 16Gb iOS7 Original box etc etc Doubt anyone will want it. Very good condition except for the rear which has slight spots where it has been marked. It's been in a case since day one but dust and I assume particles have made the back a bit spotty. Photos on request. Gareth
