We have got this fixed, the issue is the TLS Setting on the server - We have had over 50+ with no issues. Our 3rd party used IISCrypto.exe to disable older SSL Protocols - https://www.nartac.com/Products/IISCrypto/ I think this will help you (look at the comments)- https://directaccess.richardhicks.com/2017/06/26/directaccess-reporting-fails-and-schannel-event-id-36871-after-disabling-tls-1-0/ we still get Event ID 36874 but no issues with DirectAccess. Before you do anything make a save state on your Hyper-V ...

We did get some help from the original installer removing the old TLS versions but now getting this error ... The joys of DirectAccess..

Morning All, As you can imagine today we have gone from having maximum of 20 DirectAccess connections to over 40, we are having issues. I think it is one of 2 things, either the firewall at the LEA is stopping this many connection (it goes from my school website hostname to our server on-site). Or it is one of these errors - “Network Security monitor has gone from HEALTHY state to WARNING state on 23/03/2020 at 08:53 on SHU-DA01. The failure heuristic IDs for state change of Network Security are 80040006.” This is now back to HEALTHY but I am seeing this error is event viewer too. Or this screenshot. Would be great, if anyone could give us any guidance. Thanks James

Brave and Tor and NetSweeper
jhothersall replied to jhothersall's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I have found that the "Private Tor Tab" do go via Brave, so if you block "brave.com" & "bravesoftware.com" this will stop it from working. The application if downloaded will install into C:\User\%username%\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware if you press No on the UAC Box. I have setup a Software Restriction Policies in Group Policy to stop application from running in this path. -
Morning All, Just one to watch out for, we are a BTLS Customer using NetSweeper filtering. We had a incident a few weeks ago where a student managed to run the Brave Browser on Windows (Sophos Application Control reported it to me), but as not a local Admin he could run it. After questions why the student was using this ... after we have Google Chrome deployed and managed, you can bypass the filter via feature in Brave- https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018121491-What-is-a-Private-Window-with-Tor- NetSweeper are aware, (Bug ticket 12549), they say this should be also address at the Firewall level but as TOR uses different TLS Ports this isn't possible. What are people thoughts?

Afternoon, we currently have 40+ projectors which are Dell 1510x but we have started changing these to Dell 1550. So far most of these have been swapped, these do have a slighty larger throw distance.. The problem we have is we can't get hold of Dell 1550 projectors anymore (Got the last 4 for £350 each), and we cant move the throw arms as we are a ex-BSF school, and to do this will cost us basically about £400. Has anyone got experience in a different brand we could go. We cant afford to change these all at once, but want a model that has a bit of support on still. Ideally I want a filter less and bulb less, so LED, but we cant move the arms in anyway ... Any ideas ? Thanks James

We went for Dell Latitude 5500 with WD16 Docks. We have 80 laptops (5 spare) and spare 60 docks (5 spare). We use them with DirectAccess for remote access to Sims.net, it does work. I use this app https://12noon.com/?page_id=641 to setup res and dual monitors (works with a bat file). We did all this in summer, and so far so good. Still a few issues, but overall not that bad. PM me if you want a chat,

I got one of these today, and called them it is only for Christian Songs only.

We have issues with C4 as we blocking adverts (had a fair few bad ones in the past), so we have a allow all list that we put staff on temporary. We are on BTLS which is via JANET.

We have had this problem on Dell Latitude 5500, a BIOS Update fixed it... -
I have been speaking Charlie and we are trying for the same. The issue is all schools have "Moderate Restricted YouTube access”. I have provided a Google Account to all staff to use, but even then certain videos are blocked.... We block YouTube for all students, so we really want unrestricted access for staff.

I am having problem with getting the revised update to appear ... I have imported the new update and even declined the old one and re synced on WSUS. I can't get the KB 4088875 or KB 4088878 to be dated April the 4th just the March 13th Ones. Any ideas ? https://www.computerworld.com/article/3268010/microsoft-windows/microsoft-jiggles-but-doesnt-fix-buggy-win7-patches-kb-4088875-kb-4088878.html
