  2. I think it’s really poor tbh. It was offline first thing on Monday and they’ve provided no official communication until the email sent today. There should have been something sent on Monday to say that there has been an issue which is being investigated and it may be down for up to a week. I understand from my colleague in Finance that every day that WisePay has replied to an email this week they have said it will be back online this afternoon and this has been the case today, yesterday and Monday.
  3. You can change which screen responds to the touch via the SMART toolbox in the notification area. I’m on leave this week but can upload some screenshots next week if you need it. eddyc
  4. Hello, We started to have issues with running it from our shared drive as I suggested above in the end. What we did in the end was install it on one PC (it defaults to %appdata%). We then grabbed that folder and placed it in \\domain\SYSVOL\domain\Distribution\Loom We then used a machine start up script to call the following: ROBOCOPY "\\domain\SYSVOL\domain\Distribution\Loom" "C:\Program Files\Loom" /e /s /mir All users then has a desktop and start menu shortcut to "C:\Program Files\Loom\Loom.exe" It seems to work really well and means that if there is a Loom update we just need to paste the new files in \\domain\SYSVOL\domain\Distribution\Loom and it will automatically update all client PCs on a machine reboot. I hope this helps. eddyc
  5. We don’t have any staff laptops except for SLT and those aren’t imaged annually but manually updated as required.
  6. We use LTSC on our ePOS and digital signage. That aside we run Windows 10 Education education on everything. We reimagined everything ever summer. Just moved to 2004 release site wide. Updates are managed via WSUS and GPI and we block the big feature upgrades. We deploy those via imaging the site every summer.
  7. Our LEA provide Netsweeper with our internet connection. Historically it was poor but I’m talking 6+ years ago. We moved to BLOXX around 5 years ago (with our LEA) for a 3 year period. We went back to Netsweeper around 18 months ago. It has loads of new features and works brilliantly for us across windows and Mac devices (using active directory authentication and their wagents) and we have over 100 chrome books which also all work flawlessly using the Chrome wagent.
  8. 18 months ago we moved from Capita reading cloud to AccessIT. AccessIT has been brilliant and there support is always so prompt. A much better experience all round eddyc
  9. Thanks for the pointers! Very helpful
  10. I had the same replies to although they did say about installing it then dropping it on a network share. We did that and touch wood all seems well.
  11. Hi there, I’ve noticed that links to other topics show the correct heading but don’t link up properly like the example shown below. Is anyone else seeing this? eddyc
  12. Yes I mean we are having to log into the File Streaming client every time we log into windows. We use roaming profiles. We don't have much choice on the roaming profiles front. Some of our staff move between 20 rooms per fortnight and unfortunately will not accept that their other settings have not roamed with them (such as apps pinned to the taskbar), so ditching roaming profiles is a no go at the moment. eddyc - - - Updated - - - I will give that another go although I am sure when I tried it last time it didn't seem to like it and would still relaunch Chrome and get you to click sign in despite you already being logged into GMAIL.
  13. Thanks for the reply. Yes I came across that article and set the following up. I still have to log in every time though which is a pain! eddyc
  14. Hmmm, we redirect our appdata too. No such luck here!
  15. Would you be so kind to run through how you have it set up please? I have installed the client onto our machines using GoogleDriveFSSetup --silent --gsuite_shortcuts=false And that is fine. The issues we are seeing are that: 1) It prompts every user to log in everytime they sign into a PC. 2) It is trying to download their Google Drive to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Google\DriveFS so as people moves between devices it is attempting to download everything again. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. eddyc
  16. Good morning, I have done a bit of a search on here but have had no joy in finding any results. Is anyone else using Google Drive File Stream with roaming profiles? Any pointers or caveats to be aware of? I know I need to move from roaming profiles to UEV in the near future, but am struggling to fit the time in to get the necessary changes in place. Thanks in anticipation eddyc
  17. Thanks for the confirmation. That is good to know. I only noticed by mistake as I used the wrong PC to test for you! Our plan is to go 2004 and Office 2019 site wide over the summer, so I think we should be grand. I am so glad to finally have this annoying niggly issue resolved. Particularly as every member of staff rings every 90 days to report their broken start menu after a password change! eddyc
  18. We've had a completely different experience to you then! We first went with AMI and the web based Transact product in 2011 and that was not without it's issues. Quite often the service which would reset the FSM quota would not run overnight so it would be carnage the next day. Between 2013 and 2015 if I recall, support was poor and we did raise some issues then with them and their response was slow. Since then though we have had no issues at all. We did a re tender in 2017 and AMI won the contract (close with Live Register). Since the retender in 2017, we have found the support to be excellent. We have no sync or payment issues. We use WisePay. We also have three cash loaders (the big white ones with touch screens) as lots of our children do not have internet access or devices at home to use WisePay. We have never had any issues with those other than minor things (usually chewing gum pushed in the coin mech) and on those occasions we have managed to get them out ourselves. eddyc
  19. Okie dokie I have tired that for you. 1909. User with existing roaming profile. Log them in with password change needed. Set the password. Start Menu and XML is broken Log into a second PC before logging out of the initial PC and all seems to be fine. Interesting side point. Have you got 2004 build on anything? I tried this first on a 2004 build PC (which we are testing with a view of rolling out over the summer) and I was prompted to change my password and the start menu / XML did not break? It would be interesting to see if you have the same thing and if the 2004 build has this issue resolved. eddyc
  20. I’m just curious as to why you’re looking to move away from Infinity+ - we have it here and it’s rock solid. Just incase there’s something that could potentially crop up here at a later date
  21. Hey! Sorry for the delayed reply! Yes I’m still following with interest. We have exactly the same behaviour as you: Never happens on mandatory Doesn’t happen on roaming profile if there’s no existing profile Breaks if there is a roaming profile and it exists. Very strange isn’t it! I was trying to move from roaming profiles to UEV. To try and resolve this but am struggling to find the time to do that. eddyc
  22. Do you have a way to temporary allow all traffic to a device? We’ve seen behaviour like this and traced it to our web filtering and a gstatic domain which did not appear to be documented. As soon as we whitelisted that domain everything became much quicker [ QUOTE=j224;1849777]Hi All, Long shot, but hopefully someone here has some suggestions. Recently our Chromebooks have been taking ages to reach the login screen. This can be best seen in this video I did- https://drive.google.com/file/d/16v1c_Ibd3a25Ycm7U3WIzcRTXQUEfuef/view?usp=sharing It's not very clear to see in the video but the WiFi shows it's connected with a strong signal from the start. It doesn't happen all of the time, just most of the time! We use SonicWall and have all the recommended domains whitelisted and have also tested disabling DPI-SSL but still the same issue. I've taken the Chromebook home and it goes straight to the login screen within a few seconds, every time I boot. We also see this on our CloudReady computers which are ethernet, but it doesn't take as long to reach the login page. Help!
  23. Just giving this a cheeky bump. We have 100 of these available. If no one says that they want any or are interested before 30th June I will skip them. Cheers
  24. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has found a way to suppress this window during an MDT task sequence when installing Office 2019 Professional Plus? Thanks in anticipation eddyc
  25. We pay £575 per year for school plus plan including MIS integration. Some may say that’s expensive and others may not. For the man hours it saves though and knowing the timetable data is always correct on the booking system makes me feel It’s worth every penny. We tried one of the manual systems before and the issue is one of my staff would spend literally days putting the timetable in then someone would be reroomed and it would need to be checked and updated. I hope this helps Eddyc
