  1. Is this the trust-e installer stuff? We have migrated SIMS servers but they said we're not allowed to set it up ourselves and it will be a charge!
  2. Looking into this further, it appears that those with issues the service is not recovering after a crash. It seems every PC suffers crashes with certain dlls but they nearly always recover. Now testing adding some customisation to the services to autorecover after a crash.
  3. Played through the recent 007 game. Pretty decent. I tried Lego Batman but it just didn't click for me.
  4. We had a Cambium system throughout school on 6E but then we were eligible for CtC and it all got swapped out for Aruba. I wish we still had the Cambium system!! EDIT - If anyone wants to buy 50 access points I'm here..
  5. Hi Yeah its all added. If a student is logged in for 30-40 minutes they appear. It's not every student either. It's like its going to sleep and either something is maybe timing out and retrying the connection or its crashing and restarting somehow. What version installer are you using? It feels like it started to show issues after the latest 2.10.1.999 update.
  6. Was it just arbor? we seem to have had a few google and random website outages today.
  7. Hi all We recently signed up for classroom.cloud however things are going a bit pear shaped. We keep losing connections to computers with "not connected". If a student logs in, it can maybe be 45 minutes before classroom.cloud kicks in (if ever). It's either crashing or in a stuck state. I have tried the various filter/service restarts/software reinstalls but nothing is being fixed. I have reached out to support but I find them extremely slow. Has anyone else experienced this?
  8. 2 year old thread revival I am testing BYOD and no matter what I do, gmail app will not sync when we use any Wi-Fi point through Smoothwall. Gmail website works fine, also the other items such as drive sync fine. I have tested this on Android 14 and 16. I have tried HTTPS inspection/Do not inspect/ validate certificate with no difference in result. Anyone come across this?
  9. Doesn't sound good. Our "migration" is soon and I am not looking forward to it.
  10. We buy SIMS from ESS but support from LCC. Whenever I click these ESS links they never seem to work.
  11. Are you using certificates?
  12. So no one is using password1 like us? hmm
  13. I use premium to narrow it down as much as possible, export as .msg then use a converter to PDF. I then hand these to the data officer.
  14. Hi all I have added a VLAN of iPads to Smoothwall by using locations (all vlan routing is done on the core) . It all connects to our systems, gets IP etc. I am finding though from launching the Smoothwall iOS app it is taking 2+ minutes for an iPad to show connected then it suddenly bursts into life. Has anyone experienced this before and can offer any insight please?
  15. We just use the built in permission groups in SIMS. and yeah I had that confirmed too because I had some staff who had permissions in SIMS7 not seeing it replicated in SIMSNG.
  16. I reversed the migration. Currently got School Synergy and SIMS pointing fingers at each other as to why timetables don't work when they migrate.
  17. Its amazing how other MDM's "just work" but Microsoft is like someone fumbling about with 12 running hose pipes.
  18. Might see more and more of this when Chrome moves to a 2 week release cycle and uptick of AI.
  19. Sometimes a reboot is required before Chrome is detected properly in PDQ. Have you done that?
  20. My concern is staff take laptops home. With offline files being disabled, any network share desktop will now fail to cache once they break line of site of the network, so I'm looking at either hosting the desktop locally or onedrive, but these options seem to open up the desktop. I tried public desktop instead of the users desktop however this broke things.
  21. Hi all I might be thinking a bit old fashioned here, but I am wanting to move users to OneDrive, while maintaining a locked down desktop. Is this still the way to go? With the OneDrive migration, I can break folder redirection, move things over with KFM etc however users can modify their desktop even with GPO rules in place. Do you still lock down your desktop so it can't be messed with? or do people let staff do what they want? I am wanting to keep things uniform.
  22. Found this morning that users could not use google properly. Unticked this in cloud filter and it came back to life. Guessing google have made a change?
