I have recently bought a dvi to HDMI cable in order to plug my pc into my Plasma screen tv... however when i plug it in an error comes up on my tv saying video not supported. i have changed the resolution on the pc by connecting it to a moniter via VGA but no luck... any ideas?

turning a sky router into a virgin router

i have got into the modem and found the section to change the dns but that is it, does this mean i need to flash the firmware? also i am getting it through the phone line. -
i have a sagem router which i got from sky, im now on virgin, the internet has been activated but the sky router won't work, how do i make it work with virgin? Virgin have told me it can be done but won't tell me how, Please help thanks.

Hey, I have a laptop and upon boot up i get BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) i have tried loading in safe mode and this also fails to work... the error i am getting is Unmountable-boot-volume. Any ideas? help would be greatly appreiciated

hi, i recently bought an xbox 360 which unbeknownst to me was banned from xbox live, i understand that xbox wont change there policy but i was wondering, i have bought a new one but it did not come with a hardrive, if i put the hardrive from the banned xbox into the un-banned, will the un-banned xbox get banned?

Hi, have recently dug out an old laptop and im haing a little bit of trouble updating the wireless driver, its an ATHEROS ARG5005G, the main problem is that when i search for wireless networks using the laptop, i can find my wireless but i just wont connect, any advice please? Thanks a bunch Jason

the definition i have been given is: platform and/or application software on all online, machine/servers in a cluster is updated without manually taking each machine/server offline. initially, platform and/or application software for updating is stored in respective directories in an APPLY phase. next,the new platform and/or application software is activated with or withouta trial/test phase in an ACTIVATE phase. where the new platform and/or application software is activated with a trial/test phase, a ROLLBACK phase is either autmatically or manually invoked by the application in the event of a failure of the new software for backing out the new platform and/or application software and reactivateing the previous platform and/or application software . an OFICLAL phase then trasitions the new platform and/or application software to the official state followed by a REACTIVEATE phase for reactivating the backup copy of the previous/old platform and/or application software after the new software has been made official. as you can see this is rather confusing

we are hosting citrix thin clients on windows 2003 server, the computers are macs.

do you have moodle in your area?? because if so i would not put activities another things like that on as sugested! this will take up your server space were as moodle is all backed up offsite we just have links to sites that are frequentkly used such as our moodle, school e-mail and we also have a message of the day to get the pupils thinking!

does anyone know how to use a usb pen when accessing a thin client server through andother machine? i want to be able to get some files into a networked drive on the thin client server (this is for pupils so going directly to the server is not a solution) thanks Jay

this is simple, go into system preferances and select user acounts, uncheck the lock so that you can modify settings then click on the student profile and select perental controls... everything is accessable from there... hope this helps Jay

our school have onelan, it runs our three screen and we have many people logging in using differant names and passwords to input there own things... for example we have the kitchen doing the menu and the office staff doing messages. perfect for money and really easy to use

ahh yes thats a point but we cant do that because soem of our teachers are closet techies and dont acctually know what they aredoing so break there laptop. but yes i know where you aere coming from -

by the sounds of things you have already solved the problem but i will give you and example of what we do in school, on each machine if you go to control pannel/administrative tool/computer managment/local users and groups/group and at the top you will see administrators, double click on that then select add. you will be able to add any user all readyy registered. hope this helps if the problem is not already solved. please let me know if it does as i am learning I.t. and could do with all the feedback poss thanks Jay -
thankyou for all your help i read the forum that you sent me and i had to creat a user called ftp on my mac and another user called shared to be able to acces th emac but it work so i really dont mind thank you very muchly
