  1. outside of attendance the answer is pretty much nope.
  2. they also offer a webform data capture and import facility - see the SIMS Independent sales people for it. A neighbouring state school is using it succesfully.
  3. This is why I moved us away from them 2 or 3 years back - I never had confidence their software solution was robust enough.
  4. p.s. make sure you've mapped your timetable days to actual calendar days
  5. Discover is entirely optional and should not be the magic bullet to fix something like this. I've only deployed Discover to a handful of machines and the rest talk to SIMS and DMS fine. Did SOLUS see all your clients fine?
  6. matched staff codes in both nova-t and manage classroom staff? made sure their employment dates and timetable dates are compatible?
  7. missing registers only flags lessons. Actual timetabled / roomed / staffed lessons. So is there a room that kids go to, a teacher that turns up and registers them, but it doesn't actually appear on a timetable?
  8. We've been having hell with SIMS since coming back. Attendance registers taking up to 45 minutes to actually complete a SAVE. Looking on SQL I'm getting locks that timeout for 15 minutes or more. I'll have a look at some of the things you've mentioned in this thread. the thing is we're still on SQL 2012 - nothing should have changed....
  9. We're all waiting on some basic functionality to make it useful! It's a complete PITA finding out anything from the site.
  10. X from last friday in June. It's even in the DfE official guidance.
  11. I used to create a read only user in SQL and only ever use that user for queries. Capita still weren't happy. Thankfully that was with Serco - Facility CMIS and the support guys were more reasonable.
  12. That's genius If only Capita wouldn't insist putting us up against a wall and shooting us for messing around in SQL!
  13. That makes more sense, it would help with carousels as well!
  14. How would changing it to August help you? Are your teachers planning on doing all the seating plans during their holidays?
  15. Hi Nibb42 yes it still works fine. Basically you just create a user and name it something sensible like wonde_extract, wonde_user or even just wonde. Next create a custom group and start assigning permissions starting from a blank set. Once they can pull what they need to and nothing more, stop giving more permissions. If things change you can add or remove permissions. It's not great but it gives you control back.
  16. I always thought this WAS the right way!
  17. We put a note that the subjects are taught on a carousel and therefore sometimes you won't get a set of grades for one or the other.
  18. Salamandersoft can do this too (allegedly)
  19. Yeah, you could create two marksheets for each class - one for dance and one for Pe?
  20. So the problem is at the point where SchoolComms grabs the reports from SIMS..... The export to pdf doesn't upload to the document management server, just a folder of your choosing. The SLG and Parent App conversion to pdf is FROM the doc storage to the cloud. So SchoolComms can only grab them while they are still in the default .xml format..... Hmmm, one of the two systems is gonna have to be re-written methinks.
  21. That thread looks like it's only true of UDFs....
  22. When you export them there's this lovely drop down that gives you the choice of word (xml) or PDF. If you use SLG or SIMS Parent then you've got the choice when uploading to choose word or PDF again.
  23. hey matt - if only you posted a link that you could actually download from..... https://simsbulkimport.uk/Download/ Janx1975 - I did it the lazy way - get the admin staff to input them and make it part of the standard record creation procedure from now on
  24. Are you using SIMS? Assuming you are - Tools - Academic Management - Course Manager - student courses report. apply filters as desired - the important one is the "Course Status" - set to withdrawn. This will only work if whoever maintains your students in 6th form has bothered to flag them properly when removing them.
