  1. We haven't tried all students accessing it at the same time most I have tried is about 90 at the same time on staff training day which seemed to work ok, we do use SIM's and it is best to have Insight on a different Server not this if this is a requirement but we have them on separate Servers and once setup seems to work seamlessly and can configure different views for different users easily just tick boxes.
  2. Hi We have Parents, Staff and students using Insight probably students the most. Can link Students to AD accounts we have done this, you just need to get their student no or Person Id into their Employee ID in AD. Not sure about SSO there is an option to Check AD names against student names when logging in but not sure this would cause SSO. We do a similar thing with Moodle using GPO to load Moodle when students start so would be possible to send all students to Insight page. Can Display Attendance, Behaviour, Notices pretty sure you can display key stats, assessment targets progress, but we just upload reports with all this info on. Not sure about cashless catering, print balances, or library info but Tasc are really helpful and if this is feasible they will try to accommodate this. Also displays things like Time Tables, Exam information including Exam Timetables as well as attendance has attendance comparisons so how that student is performing in the class and year as regards Attendance. So as you say success to some extent.
  3. Also Tasc Insight happy user.
  4. We have found Insight excellent, we also found setting up students to access Insight extremely beneficial as they can access various information including Time tables, Exams info etc which has been useful and staff admin staff time as well as made students and parents become more involved in discussing Progress, Behaviour etc as they can keep up to date with this info.
  5. I agree with the pay rise maybe not the best timing but as the saying goes if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. If MP's were paid decent wages maybe we would get decent and the right people running the country. Councils pay vast sums of money to senior staff. Some Civil Servants are vast Sums of money. As Elsiegee40 has mentioned many more professions. Some of these especially Ministers run Departments with Billions of pounds in budgets and possibly if a reasonable wage was paid we would attract the right people and this country wouldn't be in the mess it is in. Instead of attracting inadequate people who are incapable of doing the a good job.
  6. We well mostly our MIS Officer also set targets based on mix of data so KS2, MIDY's and Department Baselines for Year 7 but also look at FFT for KS2-3, and set again at year 9 using KS2,KS3 and Yellis using KS2 to KS4 expected progress as a minimum but push targets up where Yellis and KS3 suggest higher progress all this is done and discussed at target setting with departments to try to get departments to sort of take ownership of this and feel involved and have good understanding of the reasoning why. As long as the achievement and expected progress at the school is high which it is in all measures (luckily) feel this will be ok but I have been here 3 and a half years and we haven't yet had an Ofsted so will be interested in what they think.
  7. As Vikpaw has mentioned Tasc Software and Insight does this and gives Students, Parents and Students access to the things you are looking for also as Vikpaw has mentioned their support is excellent. Lodeheathschool - YouTube really quick look. Is also easy to use for end users, easy to setup and configure and works seamlessly.
  8. Instead of going for a system that just accesses SIM's why not look at the various systems that access everything so PC's, VDI's or Virtual machines either externally or internally. We had a look at SIM's Emerge and Pars Connect and both looked fine and tried PAR's Connect as a trial and worked well but a couple of schools by us use SIM's Emerge which they also highly recommend and looked good but decided we were better off going for something that could access everything and allow more flexibility.
  9. Thanks that is bang on what I was after have run the report and checked a few exactly what I was after.
  10. We use PAR's to be honest for Behaviour but this feeds back into SIM's and we have as you sort of done with Behaviour done our own bespoke system for Progress and Intervention but linking out of information in SIM's as we are using SIM's to hold the data but somewhere else to do our analysis to an extent although we still use SIM's for this as well and have most things exporting out but someone has mentioned Behaviour and only particularly Net points so just trying to see if I can export this out.
  11. Spent the afternoon trying to get Net Points out of SIM's in a report but can't seem to find this tried variations of Achievement and Behaviour fields with filters but no joy. Anyone got any ideas.
  12. So you must be the black sheep of the family .
  13. 1, Secondary 2, Trialing Ipads around 7 – one with blue tooth keyboard, 2 RT surfaces, 1 Windows Tablet Dell 3, Mostly, internet, videoing, group work in class PP, and accessing Gateway for remote access to PC all software and systems quite a lot etc 4, Meraki for Ipads but don’t connect to the network just use our remote Gateway? 5, Trialing all three at the moment both the Surface RT and Ipad with keyboard looking good but we do use the Gateway to connect to a PC on the these a lot for extra functionality with portability. We brought one Ipad as a trial, 2 x surfaces for SLT but our recommendations and they seem pretty happy with these, but had 6 more purchased separate funding. Overall the Surface and the Ipad with the keyboard seem good but we aren’t managing these heavily only Internet connectivity Firewall\Filtering and Meraki for Ipad and if they want to connect to network connect to PC or Virtual PC through the Gateway just internally.
  14. One of the advantages of PAR's you can run various Attendance and other reports based on various dates you specify or even switch to previous year and specify dates in that year .
  15. Me too as this would be an Excellent idea instead of having to go back re push the client when the machine eventually turns on
  16. Here is ours https://moodle.lodeheath.org.uk/
  17. Could try Abtutor you can see all computers logged or one lab\room and view and monitor and take control of these if you like also very reasonably priced.
  18. The Following; Looking at Installing Solus 3 with the LEA on all the Clients Upgrading PAR's and Insight Setting up half a Dozen Wireless Access Points Looking at Developing some more Tracking and Intervention Analysis in our Progress System with software Developer Tidy our Office and Server room. Creating a couple of SIM's Reports We also have about 4 English classes in so sure there will be some extra bits and pieces Prepare some training Guides and training video's Install couple of bits of software Look at KS3 Target setting and creating KS4 PM analysis with our MIS Officer although she is doing all the work with this Update our Progress Systems documentation for the website Pretty quiet really
  19. Hi Try updating the software I was getting exactly this same issue and updating the management software seemed to resolve this.
  20. We get Staff to logon with their AD Username and Password which times out after a couple of minutes if they forget to logout but only have to hit a button to logout, but only using this on Staff photocopiers.
  21. @CaterinaAnna as Phil says they are Word templates so can drop in various data held in SIM's including Attendance and are reasonably easy to link data into.
  22. Cheers will have more of a look at this in PAR's and SIM's as regards the Graphing as at the moment is just of plain report to be honest wasn't to interested in graphing until now as these were printed so could end up costing the school a bit of money but now they are mostly electronic seems a good idea. One thing Jen are the reports you can create in PAR's unloadable to Insight at the moment staff enter the data for reports into PAR's (Sims Aspects) our reports are created in SIM's with various info on and including Attendance, ATW,ATCH (Attitude to Work and Coursework), Grades, Targets, Subject Average Grade etc this is all uploaded to SIM's document Server so that Parents, Students and Staff can view these on Insight.
  23. @PhilNeal would be interested in a look at these as well if possible, although we sort of have our own system with data automatically exported from Assessment Manager but use Assessment Manager as well so would be interested in a look if possible.
  24. If you go for CCCC but don't quote me on this as I haven't used this for three years but you wouldn't need to set up assessment manager if you went this route as it is sort of its own reporting system that just links to the timetable, staff and student info in SIM's then you build your reporting around that or that is how it used to be they used to also create some bespoke reports but this was all for electronic to printable copies but looks like it is a lot more graphical now.
  25. @CaterinaAnna You are right is an online system hosted internally here not sure what you mean by multiple outputs. With Insight Parents, Staff and Students can access the same information so Attendance, Behaviour, Timetables, Exams and Reports. We use this instead of SLG as we felt it was easier to use and looked nicer particularly for Parents and Students all the info feeds from SIM’s, it is also cheaper than SLG although SLG gives you some extra functionality but we do this differently. The Reports we create in SIM’s and upload to the document Server these can then be viewed in Insight or downloaded or printed by Students, Staff or Parents anytime including past reports, we have now can paper less for two out of the three reports we produced except for about 20 parents again saving money. We use SIM’s Assessment Manager for some Analysis but also use our own system we have developed that links from SIM’s for tracking and Intervention analysis and we also use SISRA but these are more for Staff and SLG but again feed off our data in SIM’s. Not 100% sure this answers all your queries but feel free to ask anything else or as you are only in Coventry feel free to pop up and have a look if you would like.
