Not sure that's be an viable option as you'll remove the defaults \ lookups \ whatever. Also not sure you'd want a blank database - cause it's blank, blank. You're talking about 100 hours worth of effort just to key in the data - and that's assuming you know what to key in! You could get the training databases if you have mega dosh, but again they'll be configured differently to you're school so... might not be that helpful. Ideally you want a "scramble" button so you could restore a backup of your production, but replace all the peoples names - which will never happen.

I agree, but there are other similar solutions out there that would be cheaper. Its a good first step - I mean, if this is the first time accepting card, how do you know you won't spend alot of time and money on a solution that you use 3 times in a year

I know I've found the "letterhead" to be the problem historically. Someone's done a watermark image on all the word documents - they basically got a high res image from the design firm, at say 50mb, and just wondered why it takes forever to open and has problem printing even a simple 1 page letter. On older versions of Windows you'd just set the app as the "Custom User Interface", hide all the drives, set the proxy etc for a dedicated exam user account.

If you're a primary school I'd be question why you're throwing more money at Capita rather then reviewing what you've got and seeing if there is a better solution out there. As SIMS Primary - what's the rule with anything Capita? Wait years and years for the bugs to be ironed out.

I wouldn't, just set the .org up as alias. .Sch.uk are only for UK schools and they don't expire.

Depends what you mean - Capita has a patch that takes a CSV then imports it - which is horrid as, it's a patch as its pretty a hack job. I wrote this > https://simsbulkimport.uk/ but I've had to discontinue it I don't work with SIMS and the company who was going to take it on got told they'd get a large bill from Capita if they did. Then you've got third party tools like SalamanderSoft that does that and alot more. I think Capita has some way of provisioning Office 365 account, but you'll have a fun time with GDPR as it doesn't appear you can opt-out individuals so legally you could only use it if every parent agrees they are happy your sending your student info off to Capita. Hope that helps.

Nope. It's 2FA - something you know - password and something you have - like a phone. Have you looked at saying on-prem only requires a password, then offsite you require 2fa - aka a phone.

LOL, I bought the xbox because I wanted to just game - the irony that you still have to wait for it to install, then update! I think I liked about the xbox one x was the PC equalive was insane - it's £440 for the xbox vs £440 for JUST the graphic card at the moment! Not that I really need that power to play split screen minecraft! Heck the son started playing on the old PC and connecting in (love they finally done that!)

Be worth having a word with your SIMS Support Team - patches can be an arse as they are version specific, so no idea about those. General idea is: - SOLUS3 updates - so you get all the new deployment lovely-ness - SIMS - SIMS Discover - FMS DB will just update the database then your application (ie the SIMS client) will then complain its out of date, so full. Again, have a word with your SIMS Support Team \ Capita - its what you pay them for

If you install the latest it will include all the previous releases
