  1. How are you making your filtering? I ask because we use web safety and all the settings are applied via wpad and dhcp. So, when in school, they go through we safety, but at home the only filtering is done with Sophos. We also have IMPERO that will sync back to our servers once connected. Thoughts?
  2. Hi I know I am not alone in this, but has anybody had a request from SLT or Progress Leaders for a weekly report into what assignments have been set for any given pupil? We already use the weekly digest for parents and carers, but they also want something similar sent to progress leaders. I have shown them about exporting from assignments, using insights etc, but this means the PL actually having to do some prodding around. They just want an e-mail. Has anybody found a way of doing this? Maybe a powershell script? I would have no idea where to start looking.
  3. What MIS do you use? If it is SIMS, capita will onboard you automatically and create all the teams and assign pupils/teachers to those classes. As soon as a pupil is changed in SIMS, it changes in teams as well.
  4. Hi Unfortunately you cant block chat between two pupils. What you can do is create a policy in Teams that disables CHAT, then add a security group that policy should apply to. However this blocks ALL chat for that pupil. They will just then switch to another wayto abuse. Like e-mail. Rather than a policy or a switch, use education and disciplinary procedures against the abuser.
  5. I still get incorrect column headings in import file.
  6. Matt40K - I hear and feel for you. TechMonkey - I put those spaces in to make it easier to read on here.
  7. The diagnostic script says that there are incorrect column headings in import file: My column headings are: person_type , surname, forename, midname , upn_adno_ni_tt, email_phone , notes, location, main, primary This is as per the documentation that came with the patch.
  8. Ok - I have just used the SIMS tool to import all of the pupils e-mails. I go to SIMS, run a report - and none of the e-mails I have uploaded are present. I used the student e-mail, primary email, email(own) none have been updated.
  9. Hi Folks. I don't think I am alone here but I am confused with SIMS Pupil Records and their fields. I understand that a parent will be linked to the pupil, and that parent may have an e-mail contact. Why can't the pupil have their own e-mail address? All of our pupils have a school e-mail address and I want to import these into SIMS, but where does it go? When you look at a pupil record, the e-mail address is that of the parent.
  10. Hi I have checked and the version we have is 11, not 11.4 and this is no longer available to download on their site. Dont suppose anybody has it on a dropbox somewhere? We have the licence.
  11. Hi All I moved our school to Windows 10 over the summer. This was a well planned migration. Everything went fine. Then we had issues with Smartboard software not working as intended, like the buttons in Notebook not working in extended screens. We contacted Smart and they said Version 11 is NOT windows 10 compatible and that we should move to version 17. We did so and now we have the BIGGEST nightmare. One of our departments have ALL their resources in notebook files. Some with over a hundred pages and have been developed over the last few years. Now all of a sudden they open them up and due to the fact that FLASH is no longer supported, many of the items no longer work. I have no problem with FLASH not being supported. My issue is that there are lots of items that were included in the OLD version, that have NOT been carried over. This is causing severe headaches. Has anybody had similar issues? How have you resolved the issues?
  12. Hi all Planning on rolling out Windows 10 in the summer, but having a mare with sys-prepping my golden image. The command I use is sysprep /oobe /reboot /generalize /unattend:unattended.xml I get an error and looking in the setupact.log file I find this: Error SYSPRP Package Windows.ContactSupport_10.0.15063.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy was installed for a user, but not provisioned for all users. This package will not function properly in the sysprep image. The image WAS joined to the domain - to test certain apps. The image was then removed from the domain and the local admin account was used for the sysprep. The app that it is failing on was installed by one of the DOMAIN accounts. Name : Windows.ContactSupport Publisher : CN=Microsoft Windows, O=Microsoft Corporation, L=Redmond, S=Washington, C=US Architecture : Neutral ResourceId : neutral Version : 10.0.15063.0 PackageFullName : Windows.ContactSupport_10.0.15063.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy InstallLocation : C:\Windows\SystemApps\ContactSupport_cw5n1h2txyewy IsFramework : False PackageFamilyName : Windows.ContactSupport_cw5n1h2txyewy PublisherId : cw5n1h2txyewy IsResourcePackage : False IsBundle : False IsDevelopmentMode : False IsPartiallyStaged : False I have ensured that the profile is NOT on this image, I have also removed the profile from the registry. I have tried removing the app using get-appxpackage -user stthomasmore\staff.test Windows.ContactSupport_10.0.15063.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy | Remove-AppxPackage it wont remove it and I cant sysprep. Please does anybody have an idea how I can get past this. Remember, I have removed it from the domain already.
  13. Hi I was just wondering if anybody has had any issues with Cross Domain installations with SIMS & Discover using Solus 3? We have an Admin network and a Curric network with a two way trust between them, having difficulty getting Solus to do its job from the Admin network to the Curric Network. TIA
  14. Hi All This is my last resort. We have a school Myriad system and we also have a dedicated ICECAST server running on a windows box. I have set up BUTT on the Myriad and all works well in VLC Player and Windows Media Player. However, I have tried all sorts of players for a browser and can't get ANY of them to work. Even the HTML 5 Audio tag just throws and invalid source. the url is http://radio.stthomasmore.local:8000/radio.m3u I have even tried it without the .m3u The stream is MP3. As I said, works fine in VLC and Windows Media Player but simply refuses to work in any web based player. I have tried LOADS. Any Ideas?
  15. Ok, I decided enough was enough. I uninstalled IE11, machines then all went back to IE 10 and the problem with Google has been fixed. This is obviously yet another screw up from Microsoft. Thanks.
