  1. What code i can't see no code....
  2. I've brought tons of stuff from ebuyer over the years and never had any problems! I had a fault with my new 2080 ti contacted them and they were good as good can be! (later fixed the problem after finding it was dodgy NZXT software causing my PC to crash...)
  3. I would.... but this standalone machine is a powerful mac (has to be to run the software) and two of them would be too expensive! The students use it for recording and need to access their files etc from network also.
  4. Dragon use to be our go to, since Dictate for office has come out more students are using that, simply because it's easier to setup. Some prefer dragon which is ok just a bit of a faff to install it
  5. That's my current thinking, was curious how other people had it setup.
  6. Yeah we don't want it setup like that, if the music tech for whatever is out the room he'll leave them with access to staff shares unsupervised. Much prefer a designated user
  7. We are getting a Music Tech (who is starting next week i think) but this is first job! But the lock down side i see as IT job not a music tech, i will ask him next week what they will need access to etc. of course.
  8. Hi All, Does anyone here have a recording studio (at work not at home!) that the general public use? We've recently built one and the public are soon able to rent it out. We have a Mac on High Sierra managed via Mosyle. How do you have the public user setup? I'm currently leaning towards a Local user on the Mac but that still has draw backs like we have to create a user in our firewall for the proxy. Were as a network user will need to be very locked down so can't access student file shares and the like! Interested to hear how other peoples have theirs setup. Thanks Dalek
  9. When you go to Sharing -> Caching in Settings does it all seem OK? is the Mac still on the same network/vlan as the other apple devices?
  10. No Bebo? I already follow you on Twatter
  11. Same as @free780 said, We currently have it setup so it's basically an MDM. Laptop running Win 10 pro out of the box, user can set it up aslong as they select our domain in the setup process and the login with their domain account. Pulls down all the settings etc and we are currently in the process of setting up the Windows store to be full of our apps instead of using SCCM. Still a long way to go but we have 5 users setup this way so far!
  12. Same as most people are saying, a lot easier to keep up to date via News sites than mags. Personally i keep up to date via YouTube and Twitter
  13. First thing i asked for when i joined my new place was an ifixit toolkit! Had one at old place and have one at home
  14. I use iFixit kits. Has everything I've ever needed. They even have lifetime warranties also!
  15. Have you called the US based helpline? When i've called apple in past they've been very helpful and got my issues sorted, i know it can be a PITA to call them but atleast it solves your issue instead of looking around t'internet for a couple hours atleast!
  16. It does the basics, i wouldn't say it was decent. Simple things like pushing apps out it does fine but more like to haves like changing the layout of the screen it can't do. Would take a dedicated MDM over it any day. My manager asked me to look to moving from Mosyle to Intune, i said no it's terrible!

    Surface Pro

We use Surface Pro 4s, screen size etc is fine, keyboard is nice. I have the dock and 2 monitors. Biggest problem for me is it's CPU is an m3 and no where near powerful enough for me, teachers it's ok. Managed to wrangled a new laptop with an i5 luckily which i should get next week!
  18. Currently have a 1800x looking to upgrade so hoping the rumours are true and Ryzen 9 will be a thing! Seen a rumoured 8c 16t 5Ghz model.... yes please!
  19. No problem, thanks for taking a look anyway!
  20. Wall kits, we are OK for ceiling kits. It's two bits of flat metal, one for the wall and one for the AP and a bit that comes off the metal to screw them together.
  21. Hi Guys, Bit of a hit and hope here, we need 2 mounting kits for our Ruckus 7363 APs and i can't seem to find them anywhere cheaply or available! Old APs i know but we are hoping to move to UniFi soon. Anyone got a couple lying around they don't need?
  22. I know i've downgraded the RGB from last build(not joking ), this card is huge it has its own support brace! I know lots of people been saying bad stuff about RTX framerate drop, but BF V, on max settings RTX on at 4k is soooooooo good and get a steady 60 fps
  23. Here ya go

    MAC Hardening

Best practice like @Arthur said is an MDM, the Apple own MDM that you can get is VERY lacking in features, to the extent most people are ditching it. Depends a lot on how many Mac devices you have also. We use Mosyle here, was nice and easy to setup let me know if you have any questions!
  25. I've had the same laptop bag since secondary school! (over 10 years ago) still going strong, can't argue with a new bag though
