  1. We do it by times also. Teaching Staff were told by SLT to suck it up and deal with it.
  2. Ah superb... explains all MY problems also...!

    Graphics Tablet

    The Genius tablets are fine - I use one here for all my design work... Genius G-PEN F610 or F509. Works fine with Windows XP, Vista and 7 (32bit and 64bit). No issues with Adobe and Corel software. Not tried it in Serif but as it works just as a mouse I can't see there being any issues there.
  4. What Mako posted is correct... just compare the AMOUNT of code he posted to do the job vs the amount used to do it with tables... Mako's code could be reduced further by defining styles in the head rather than inline as there wouldn't be a need to reproduce the formatting for each div, just call them by class. So you'd put the following inbetween your tags: <br /> .container {<br /> width: 768px;<br /> margin-left:auto;<br /> margin-right:auto;<br /> }<br /> <br /> .box {<br /> width:180px;<br /> text-align:center;<br /> float:left;<br /> margin-left:10px;<br /> margin-bottom:10px;<br /> border:#000 1px solid;<br /> }<br /> and this in the page body... Header1img1.jpg Header2img2.jpg Header3img3.jpg Header4img4.jpg Now, if at a later date you want to add more tiles, just add another *snip* per tile. Above is for 4 tiles in a row. Below will produce 2 rows of 4. Header1img1.jpg Header2img2.jpg Header3img3.jpg Header4img4.jpg Header5img5.jpg Header6img6.jpg Header7img7.jpg Header8img8.jpg Have a look at http://www.hotdesign.com/seybold/everything.html The point of CSS & semantically correct coding is that it massively reduces bandwidth, increases page load times, degrades gracefully for other devices, and is far more accessible to those who may use screen readers etc. Tables should only be used to represent tabular data basically, not for layout and styling. That said, the code that you use should fall in line with whatever code is compliant for the DOCTYPE statement at the top of your file... otherwise it'll fail validation.

    Spider in IE

    Won't be a malicious virus, will just be a screenmate app someone's installed at somepoint. Your technician should be able to find out the process name by looking at running processes in Task Manager. Use MSConfig to then remove it from startup items... and find and replace in regedit to blitz it out of there. Once done, run Spybot S&D and HiJackThis on it just to tidy up anything that may have been left lying around by the various toolbars.
  6. Righty - no need to use the parent data bit. That can be ignored and only used if you so wish. Unfortunately, you do need to use the Student Transfer option as this then links the relevant ID fields between user accounts in Moodle, users in Facility, and users in AD... and keeps the data sync'd, otherwise there is no cross reference between the members of teachinggroups in facility and your users in Moodle. LDAP plugin works pefectly for anyone's AD setup, but it doesn't link the Moodle Users IDs to Facility Users. (That said, if you manually ensure that the students' admin number from facility is in the idnumber field in mdl-user table, then it MAY work... but no guarantees)
  7. eh...? Not sure what you mean...
  8. Made a few tweaks to this today to allow vertical option groups where CrsYear is null in the Facility teachinggroups table... If you grab latest from moodle.org, just overwrite tgAJAJ.php, modAJAJ.php, and yearAJAJ.php in your Ajax folder with the ones from the archive. Any teaching group where CrsYear is null in Facility will then show up in the teaching groups tree under year 0 when adding groups to courses.
  9. Shouldn't be security - we're using Trapeze managed, and iPhones connect quite happily via RSN(WPA2)-PSK using TKIP and WEP-104 ciphers.
  10. lang.en - line 17.
  11. Couldn't say fella - we host ours on FreeBSD rather than Windows... all works perfectly out of the box for us. Do you have a firewall / ISA server between yourself and the webserver or the webserver and the fileserver?
  12. No issues here with downloading docs with spaces in the names... How are you downloading Office Docs, by left clicking, or by right clicking and using save target as...?
  13. Nope, as it's not a module... it's a block.
  14. I'm afraid there ends my expertise on this one... sorry!
  15. Just a query - you say your FQDN is llangefni.anglesey.sch.uk ... now, is that your ActiveDirectory domain, or your website address domain...?
  16. Righty, change the content of the file to this: $smb_cfg=new stdClass; $smb_cfg->cfgWebserverType='windows' //$smb_cfg->cfgUserPrefix='LLANGEFNI/'; $smb_cfg->cfgWinShareToSmb=array( '\\llangefni-dc'=>'LLANGEFNI/llangefni-dc' ); $smb_cfg->cfgWinShares=array( 'share1'=>array( 'share'=>'LLANGEFNI/llangefni-dc/Staff Drive', 'title'=>'Staff Shared Area', 'courses'=>array(1) ) ); $smb_cfg->cfgAllSharesSite=true; $smb_cfg->cfgAnonymous = false; $smb_cfg->cfgForceDownloads = true; $smb_cfg->cfgMaxFolderZipSizeMB=0; $smb_cfg->cfgCachePath = false; $smb_cfg->cfgDefaultLanguage = 'en'; $smb_cfg->cfgDefaultCharset = 'ISO-8859-1'; $smb_cfg->cfgDefaultServer = 'localhost'; $smb_cfg->cfgSmbClient = 'C:\cygwin\bin\smbclient'; $smb_cfg->cfgAuthMode = 'SMB_AUTH_ARG_WIN'; $smb_cfg->cfgModRewrite = false; $smb_cfg->cfgHideDotFiles = true; $smb_cfg->cfgHideSystemShares = true; $smb_cfg->cfgHidePrinterShares = true; $smb_cfg->cfgLogLevel = 2; $smb_cfg->cfgFacility = LOG_DAEMON; $smb_cfg->cfgUserAuth = 'BasicAuth'; $smb_cfg->cfgSessionName = 'SMBWebClientID'; $smb_cfg->cfgAntivirus = false; $smb_cfg->cfgArchiver = 'zip'; $smb_cfg->cfgInlineFiles = false; $smb_cfg->cfgHomeDirField = ''; $smb_cfg->cfgIEProtectMsOffice=true; $smb_cfg->cfgssl=false; $smb_cfg->cfgSkipNoPwdParam=true; ?>
  17. Rename the file to config_smb_web_client.bak, then paste this into a new file entitled config_smb_web_client.php: $smb_cfg=new stdClass; $smb_cfg->cfgWebserverType='windows' $smb_cfg->cfgUserPrefix='LLANGEFNI/'; $smb_cfg->cfgWinShareToSmb=array( '\\llangefni-dc'=>'LLANGEFNI/llangefni-dc' ); $smb_cfg->cfgWinShares=array( 'share1'=>array( 'share'=>'LLANGEFNI/llangefni-dc/Staff Drive', 'title'=>'Staff Shared Area', 'courses'=>array(1) ), 'share2'=>array( 'share'=>'GUY-Q430/10.0.0.50/Documents', 'title'=>'Documents', 'courses'=>array(1) ) ); $smb_cfg->cfgAllSharesSite=true; $smb_cfg->cfgAnonymous = false; $smb_cfg->cfgForceDownloads = true; $smb_cfg->cfgMaxFolderZipSizeMB=0; $smb_cfg->cfgCachePath = false; $smb_cfg->cfgDefaultLanguage = 'en'; $smb_cfg->cfgDefaultCharset = 'ISO-8859-1'; $smb_cfg->cfgDefaultServer = 'localhost'; $smb_cfg->cfgSmbClient = 'C:\cygwin\bin\smbclient'; $smb_cfg->cfgAuthMode = 'SMB_AUTH_ARG_WIN'; $smb_cfg->cfgModRewrite = false; $smb_cfg->cfgHideDotFiles = true; $smb_cfg->cfgHideSystemShares = true; $smb_cfg->cfgHidePrinterShares = true; $smb_cfg->cfgLogLevel = 2; $smb_cfg->cfgFacility = LOG_DAEMON; $smb_cfg->cfgUserAuth = 'BasicAuth'; $smb_cfg->cfgSessionName = 'SMBWebClientID'; $smb_cfg->cfgAntivirus = false; $smb_cfg->cfgArchiver = 'zip'; $smb_cfg->cfgInlineFiles = false; $smb_cfg->cfgHomeDirField = ''; $smb_cfg->cfgIEProtectMsOffice=true; $smb_cfg->cfgssl=false; $smb_cfg->cfgSkipNoPwdParam=true; ?> Give it a try and let me know how far you get. You'd missed the 'courses' section of each share's array, and you hadn't actually set the domain prefix for $smb_cfg->cfgUserPrefix - it still said 'domain/' rather than your actual domain.
  18. You followed all the instructions in the documentation folder? Also, in the smbclient config file, set $smb_cfg->cfgSkipNoPwdParam = true; at the end of the file (regardless of whether you're on uBuntu or not) and regardless of whether you're using ldapcapture or not, your servers should still be specified as DOMAIN/server in the config file. Copy and paste your entire config_smb_web_client.php into a PM and fire it over to me...
  19. It's unsubstantiated rumour at the moment - the article in TheTimes and TheMail were full of statistical inaccuracies. Watch #bbcf1 and Jake on twitter. Bear in mind that TheTimes is one of Murdoch's papers, and he's wanting to do as much damage to BBC as possible to assist his bid to takeover from CVC as main investor (which Bernie / FOA denies is happening).
  20. Hmmm... that file doesn't exist fella. You should just be able to use the regular auth_ldap_sync script as per usual without changing anything. The sync still occurs by regular LDAP auth plugin. LDAPCapture is only required for live on-site functionality to passthru the password - no need to write a separate sync script for it that I'm aware of.
  21. LDAPCapture just passes thru and auths against AD, and upon succesful auth writes users into the database. You should be able to use auth_ldap_sync_users.php to keep their details in check, but the password is never written to the database.
  22. Where in our case FQDN is Horbury.Internal, the DOMAIN used in the config file is just 'HORBURY' (ie: the one-word netbios name). I've NEVER managed to get any output from the block without LDAPCapture, as the password isn't correctly encrypted to present to AD. If you're seeing blankness, it's usually because as far as the block is concerned you don't have permission to see the contents of the share in question, which is usually due to not getting the password across succesfully. This is the purpose of LDAPCapture. Grab it from Moodle.org: open-source community-based tools for learning, and set it as your default auth plugin.
  23. Before any of it will work, you need to have the smbclient binary installed on the webserver - see http://www.citricity.com/moodlegpl/windowssharewebclient/instructions_for_installing_smbclient32_on_windows.pdf Once it's installed, test it with the following command line: smbclient -L servername -U DOMAIN/username Where servername is the netbios name (just the server name, not it's FQDN). You should be promtped for your password, and it should then list all shares/resources available to you on that server. Once you've proven that to be working, you can move on to sorting the block out. First part of the config file sets up who the servers are and how to refer to them: $smb_cfg->cfgWinShareToSmb=array( '\\server01'=>'DOMAIN/server01', '\\server02'=>'DOMAIN/server02' ); The next section sets up the shares... $smb_cfg->cfgWinShares=array( 'share1'=>array( 'share'=>'DOMAIN/server01/Share1', 'title'=>'Staff Resources', 'courses'=>array(1) ), 'share2'=>array( 'share'=>'DOMAIN/server01/Share2', 'title'=>'Shared Documents', 'courses'=>array(1) ) , 'share3'=>array( 'share'=>'DOMAIN/server2/share1', 'title'=>'ITTeam', 'courses'=>array(53) ) , 'share4'=>array( 'share'=>'DOMAIN/server02/share2', 'title'=>'Admin Data', 'courses'=>array(56) ) ); ...where shareX is the shared folder name as displayed when browsing to that server via start > run > \\servername The 'courses' field is the Moodle course to which that share is associated. Those enrolled to that course then automatically have that share displayed in the block. Permissions are derived from username and password, which should be your user's AD username and password, which should be acquired using the LDAPCapture plugin for Moodle.
  24. Hmm - no sign of Moodle2 support on it's modules page... but both the Windows Share Web Client block and the LDAPCapture plugin are from the same person, so if one is rewritten the other would logically be also (one hopes).
