I have got two NICs working. One is a 10Gbps fibre connected to the second server and the other one is an ethernet cable connected to the core switch. I have made vSwitches on both NICs and bridged them together. I have disabled VMQ on the host NICs in the configuration menu. The thing is, when I copy files from the VM to the host it goes at MAX speed but when I copy from host to VM it goes at snails pace. I've attatched a picture. I have also done TCP IPv4 offloading but that didn't help either. Do I have to reset the NICs when I change the settings?

The network speed says 10Gbps and it takes 11h to copy 9GB :| I must fix this- I have 1.4TB of sh*t to copy before monday.
-
I've installed the drivers for the host machine- they're Emulex. I see all the advanced options in the NIC config panel.

Hi guys, I'm having a big issue atm with copying files to any of my VMs. I am trying to copy a lot of files from the virtual machine host to a single virtual machine and the speeds are so bad. Barely reaching 1MBps! This is an internal network with a 10Gbps NIC. I disabled VMQ but that didn't seem to help.

We do have a script in place. I'll disable that and see if this help. Thanks for the answer!

Hello team, I'm deploying Windows 8.1 machines to our domain however, some of them get stuck on the "please wait" screen before logging on. This is completely random and it doesn't affect a specific machine. After doing a restart or two they start working. I heard that this is linked to some background windows update processing? This is driving me nuts.. Please halp!

A variable box comes up. There is no Display Name option. I just finished googling around and apparently there is no easy way of doing this. A long-winded way is to mess around with scripts and registry edits but I can't be bothered. %USERNAME% it is. Thanks for all the input guys.

I've got 600 users :/ I don't want to use the AD path in the user properties because it show the server details. The GPO solves that issue. the format I use for John Smith is 13smithj. The data path is \\data\user\13smithj. So I use the \\data\user\%USERNAME% to fetch the folder path but I'd like it to display their surname/lastname in file explorer instead of their username. I hope you know what I'm trying to achieve. If this isn't possible, I'll just stick with the username. I'm trying to get this working:
-
%USERNAME% displays as the username however, the %DISPLAYNAME% just shows up as %DISPLAYNAME% on the mapped drive. I made sure that the field in AD is not empty..

Hey, I'm trying to get some drives mapped and I'd like to know how this format is called- %USERNAME%- it displays the current logon username. Is there a % that would just display surname or first name? I tried doing %FIRSTNAME% and %LASTNAME% but it doesn't work. Help! :<

I think it's just windows 10, no fancy versions of it- just as it is.

It's less than two weeks till the release date- It better be the final version.

Well, since the RTM 10240 has been out since yesterday I've decided to finally switch. I love this new OS. Virtual desktops? Yes. Edge? Kind of. Simplicity? Yes. What are your thoughts on it? Btw. SIMS works on it just fine (if you're scared of upgrading) Edge keeps crashing on me and it won't accept Firefox favorites- duh.

Managed to fix it. Reinstalling the NIC drivers did the trick -

It's coming back clean with an exception on NcSecDesc. Currently running on a 2003 domain level. This is the error: Doesn't work... Yep. -

The current DC is 2008 R2 and the other servers join to it no problem. I can ping the domain name and the DC. When I use the nbtstat -a I get the full NetBIOS table. -

Date- Correct Firewall- was ON, I turned it OFF. Can't get drivers due to no internet connectivity. I can ping my DC and when joining to the domain it asks me for credentials but after than it fails. nslookup works on the DC too. Network configuration is correct after running ipconfig/all. -
Hello, We recently got a Fujitsu server. After installing the OS I tried joining the domain but I get an error "The network path was not found". In Event Viewer I get an Error code 4097 regarding "netjoin" with another error code of 53. The server is connected to the network because I can ping everything internally and externally. I am completely lost now- Microsoft wasn't helpful. Thanks

Exactly what I'm after. How long did it take you to code this?

Hello, I've recently sourced a touch screen PC from a friend of mine and want to use it as a sign in device in reception. Do you know any free/open source piece of software that would use the touch screen functionality? I don't need any fancy online or database functions.

thanks mate, that worked!
