Having trouble locating one.... probably because I need a PINK one. I don't suppose anybody can point me at a supplier, or even supply one? I've tried my main suppliers, and a smaller local one with no joy.

Ha.. my nice quiet time has been foiled by Facilities... they are installing new heating pipes.. directly over my office! Drilling holes through brick walls, banging around in the crawl space over my desk, kicking walls over (thats what it sounds like!) and generally turning my office into what sounds like a war zone... I gave up and went home yesterday.

Ah I remember all that... then we bought Citrix Provisioning server.. one build, and they all work from the same network image, no ghosting or imaging, just a nice network boot.. deeply joyous IT Dept!

Second that.. no install necessary - it just works. Apart from Office 2007, where I just can't push that orb button using it! Oh, and any Kaspersky buttons... really weird..

It's interesting, and I think that cloud is the way forward.. Not sure how private schools will fit in the this g-cloud thingamabob though. Either way, browser based seems easiest, looking at it logically - but I think there will always be a need for "full fat" PC's - video editing, laser cutting (D&T) and other specialist applications will surely need local PC's. There may not be an OSS solution for some of these. A mix of both seems a reasonable compromise - horses for courses as they say?

Sadly, I have to agree.. the service currently isn't anywhere as good as it used to be. I'm pressing on, hoping that it will improve though!

Work at Home rights came with ours, yes.

Profiles - not that I know of. If you find different, please let me know. Ring tones - officially, they can only be produced from songs actually bought through the iTunes store. However, there are other ways.. google for iRinger.exe

Freecycle - I had about a dozen last year, and they all went to different places.

We / I use GenControl for academic PC's.. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Remote-Utils/GenControl.shtml Seems to work just fine, and doesn't require installation anywhere.

Maybe the batteries need replacing?

I guess he's got his answer though! Those details are available here in case of an emergency that takes me or my tech out of the picture, but they would be given to a suitably qualified person from a support company at least. Nobody here on the SMT has any doubt about their ability to break everything if they touch it.

Thought this might be worth a glance.. do you currently have Exchange Active Sync working internally? I remember last year having to run through this document to get an HP iPaq working for someone. Exchange ActiveSync and Outlook Mobile Access errors occur when SSL or forms-based authentication is required for Exchange Server 2003

A laptop here has had a Lenovo factory restore done on it somehow(!), and obviously has very important data on it.. well HAD. This data has not, for whatever reason, been copied back up to the server for a long time now, and would take many tens of hours to rewrite. Can anyone recommend a data recovery company that can retrieve data from a partition wipe, format and OS re-install? /sigh

That's the one... I have access yes, but the iPhone connects to OWA, so I don't think there is much I can do about it from the server end.

Basically, yes. I can do it with my Blackberry - turn off an e-mail account at a certain time so that mail is not collected until it turns back on again in the morning.

That's not a long day.. When I did my MCSA on a bootcamp, we were in the classroom from about 8.30am until midnight most days... Basically, it was two days classroom, then exam, then back to the class. It was extremely tiring, but it does teach you how to pass a MS Exam. I already knew most of it, but learning the MS way to do things most definately helped in the exams.

Is there an app that anyone is aware of that will allow me to turn off a specific e-mail address at a certain time (I collect six different ones)? I could set an alarm and do it manually I guess, but automation is a wonderful thing!
