  1. As for pay, a quick search on IT Jobs Watch can be educational. IT Jobs Watch, Tracking the IT Job Market
  2. I'm using SCCM Application Deployment with Powershell App Deployment Toolkit. Works really well once you get your head round it.
  3. I figured it out. If I dot sourced the AppDeployToolkitMain.ps1 file that gives me access to all the variables and functions in PSADT. Loading Deploy-Application.ps1 in ISE and setting a break point also worked, but I didn't need to do that for what I was trying to do.
  4. I am writing a script to deploy flash to my workstations and I need to debug it. What's the best way of doing this? Ideally I'd want to run things in ISE so I can interact with teh PSADT functions and check return values and such like. What does everyone else do?
  5. They excluded multiboxing from the stats (IP limit) a while back.
  6. weekly peek is Sundays. So we'll see.
  7. I resurrected my old account and bought the subs for a month myself. If you want to grab me in-game my pilot name is 'Llisander'. I'm dinking about in high-sec based out of Jel at the moment although I bob into low-sec and w-space sometimes. I also have my own corp called 'Citisys' (entirely for tax reasons, so I'm not too attached to it). If you want to fleet up and do stuff I'm in. I also know what I'm doing to a medium degree, so any questions just ask away. Oh I can loan some isk for a better ship too if you are stuck (but honestly just ask in Jita Local).
  8. As noted in the Guardian. You can play completely free as long as you like. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/nov/15/eve-online-goes-free-to-play Here are the trailers. Download the client and sign up here: https://community.eveonline.com/support/download/ The best newbie advice I can give is to check out the Eve Uni Wiki New Player guide though. Getting Started in EVE Online - UniWiki
  9. You can override BITS settings in your SCCM client config I think.
  10. I use branchcache.
  11. Above code has a bug in the version number comparison sub query. I fixed it and here's the update. Use CM_F01 select distinct SMS_R_System.Name0 as 'Computer Name', SMS_R_System.AD_Site_Name0 as 'AD Site', SMS_R_System.SMS_Unique_Identifier0 as 'SMS ID', SMS_R_System.Resource_Domain_OR_Workgr0 as 'Domain', CASE When SMS_R_System.Client0 = 1 then 'Yes' else 'No' END as Client, __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.DisplayName00 as 'Program Display Name', __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.Version00 as 'Program Version' from vSMS_R_System AS SMS_R_System INNER JOIN Add_Remove_Programs_DATA AS __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0 ON __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.MachineID = SMS_R_System.ItemKey where ( __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.DisplayName00 like 'Java _ Update %' AND cast('/' + Version00 + '/' as hierarchyid) NOT IN ( select distinct top 1 cast('/' + Version00 + '/' as hierarchyid) from Add_Remove_Programs_DATA where DisplayName00 like 'Java _ Update %' order by cast('/' + Version00 + '/' as hierarchyid) desc ) ) union select distinct SMS_R_System.Name0 as 'Computer Name', SMS_R_System.AD_Site_Name0 as 'AD Site', SMS_R_System.SMS_Unique_Identifier0 as 'SMS ID', SMS_R_System.Resource_Domain_OR_Workgr0 as 'Domain', CASE When SMS_R_System.Client0 = 1 then 'Yes' else 'No' END as Client, __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.DisplayName00 as 'Program Display Name', __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.Version00 as 'Program Version' from vSMS_R_System AS SMS_R_System INNER JOIN Add_Remove_Programs_64_DATA AS __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0 ON __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.MachineID = SMS_R_System.ItemKey where ( __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.DisplayName00 like 'Java _ Update %' AND cast('/' + Version00 + '/' as hierarchyid) NOT IN ( select distinct top 1 cast('/' + Version00 + '/' as hierarchyid) from Add_Remove_Programs_64_DATA where DisplayName00 like 'Java _ Update %' order by cast('/' + Version00 + '/' as hierarchyid) desc ) ) order by SMS_R_System.AD_Site_Name0,__System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.Version00 asc
  12. My mate has a PS VR and he brought it round to my house to mess about with. I was very impressed. I paticlarly liked Eve Valkrye, VR is perfect for that sort of thing. If you can't quite get the image right just by fiddling with the headset adjustments then have a look at the options menu. Probably the eye distance and brightness are the most important ones to fiddle with.
  13. If you are finding drivers a pita and you are running Windows 10 then there's a powershell command you can run to export the drivers in an MDT friendly format. Export-WindowsDriver -Destination “C:\Drivers\$((Get-WmiObject -Class win32_computersystem).Model)” -Online So the proceedure is: Build Win10 machine on new hardware (just vanilla iso is fine) connect to internet and update drivers via Windows update or whatever other method you feel like. export drivers via powershell copy to mdt server and import.
  14. If you want to be super lazy, it's possible to use ipxe to boot the machine. This has the advantage of booting off a linux kernel that knows about all any network card hardware you choose to expose it to. Once the kernel is running it'll hand over to PXE boot and let you bootstrap as normal. It used to be used for machines that had no native PXE support, but it'll work for this too. Windows ends up thinking it's booting off DOS and is talking to an NDIS networking stack if I recall. You can grab a prebuilt bootable usb/cd from their site. iPXE - open source boot firmware [start] For what you want to do, you don't need to build your own disc with customisations.
  15. Updated for JRE8 v111 with no issue. I've also genereated some reports to keep an eye on things using report builder and email subscriptions. If you want to do this too you'll need an SQL query. Here's what I'm using: select distinct SMS_R_System.Name0 as 'Computer Name', SMS_R_System.AD_Site_Name0 as 'AD Site', SMS_R_System.SMS_Unique_Identifier0 as 'SMS ID', SMS_R_System.Resource_Domain_OR_Workgr0 as 'Domain', CASE When SMS_R_System.Client0 = 1 then 'Yes' else 'No' END as Client, __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.DisplayName00 as 'Program Display Name', __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.Version00 as 'Program Version' from vSMS_R_System AS SMS_R_System INNER JOIN Add_Remove_Programs_DATA AS __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0 ON __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.MachineID = SMS_R_System.ItemKey where ( __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.DisplayName00 like 'Java _ Update %' AND __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.Version00 NOT IN ( select distinct top 1 Version00 from Add_Remove_Programs_DATA where DisplayName00 like 'Java _ Update %' order by Version00 desc ) ) union select distinct SMS_R_System.Name0 as 'Computer Name', SMS_R_System.AD_Site_Name0 as 'AD Site', SMS_R_System.SMS_Unique_Identifier0 as 'SMS ID', SMS_R_System.Resource_Domain_OR_Workgr0 as 'Domain', CASE When SMS_R_System.Client0 = 1 then 'Yes' else 'No' END as Client, __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.DisplayName00 as 'Program Display Name', __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.Version00 as 'Program Version' from vSMS_R_System AS SMS_R_System INNER JOIN Add_Remove_Programs_64_DATA AS __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0 ON __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.MachineID = SMS_R_System.ItemKey where ( __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.DisplayName00 like 'Java _ Update %' AND __System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.Version00 NOT IN ( select distinct top 1 Version00 from Add_Remove_Programs_64_DATA where DisplayName00 like 'Java _ Update %' order by Version00 desc ) ) order by SMS_R_System.AD_Site_Name0,__System_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS0.Version00 asc It'll check for the latest version of Java (both 64bit and 32bit) and compare the version against all your machines with Java installed and give you a list of machine + site + java version installed. You can do lots of fun things in reporting to make this info look pretty. I just went with a per site summary and a machine list in the end.
  16. Changelog here: https://mods.curse.com/modpacks/minecraft/251861-ftb-presents-hermitpack#t1:changes
  17. If wanting to learn about cloud networking when you don't have the basics down I stop and cover them first.
  18. There's an update. https://www.feed-the-beast.com/projects/ftb-presents-hermitpack/files I haven't updated yet. It looks like mostly mod version bumps.
  19. It is used to create fertiliser for forestry crop farms. You only need a bit to get going. After that you can cycle ash from burning peat back to your crop farms. At least that's how it used to work. Which reminds me, @localzuk did you say you had tweaked the forestry config for square farms? What's the minimum size for such a farm?
  20. Tbh it might be an honest mistake if: a) they are not aware of nether portal 'pyhsics'. Specifically how portals jump and connect to the destination world portal if they are within 128 blocks in netherspace (or 1024 blocks overworld). b) they are not aware that blocking a portal by walling it up stops more than pigmen. However I think a bit more 'vetting' of potential edugeekers before they are added to the whitelist might be a good idea. Minimum post amount or account age are obvious things that spring to mind.
  21. I found most of my stuff in my chests thanks. I've replaced the rest anyway. Losing XP on Tinkers Construct tools is a bit painful though. Fortunately I hadn't really put any modifiers on the tools yet so it's not like I lost stacks of redstone or lapis upgrades.
  22. We blew it up, which mostly fixed the problem. I still can't get my stuff back though.
  23. I suffocated in a wall somehow. There is my grave ontop of the portal that I cant get to as the area has protection belonging to 2016ms. I'm also unable to block the netherrack too.
  24. The netherstone needs removing from the portal on the overworld side otherwise we're stuck.
  25. I am trapped in the nether portal as someone blocked the overworld side. Infact it looks like the connection jumped to another portal as I don't recognise the area.
