  1. Do these plugins work with externally hosted Moodle sites?
  2. A surprising amount of people in jobs are being convicted for their part in this. I've heard of a Banker, youth worker and others being tried for offences so it's not just angry kids but bloody silly peopl in jobs as well. Mob mentality and all that.
  3. During the riots Tottenham had announced that they've signed a new striker. 'Grabbateli'
  4. Didn't say whether he was a looter or not. If it carries on tonight, expect more deaths as I've seen the shops in the area I work (Islington) already arming themselves in case it spreads towards here. The local JD sports has closed its doors and barricaded the windows up and won't be opening all week.
  5. Oooh forgot to add Diablo 3. God sake I've got A LOT of pre-orders.
  6. Just looking at my pre-order list on GAME. Star Wars - The Old Republic Battlefield 3 CoD - MW3 Elder Scrolls - Skyrim Mass Effect 3 Really having a good long think about Dead Island as well, the trailer for it was the BEST I've ever seen from a game.
  7. Not installed it yet but will fire up a VM of it sometime this weekend. Indeed it looks incredibly polished and as a long time advocate (and developer) of Moodle, I'm hoping this could be able to top it. The 2.0 version of Moodle has really thrown a lot of users with some of its features so I'm all game for developing in Ruby/Canvas.
  8. The biggest difference is the budgets and the backing from SMT. In the private sector you 'generally' have more money to play with and don't usually have to spend a summer putting more RAM into machines just to keep them ticking over and blowing your budget doing so. I can't think of many private sector places that will have 5 year + machines still in use, in education I can. IT in education usually results in getting the best bang for buck and frugality surely is a great skill in the current climate.
  9. I was in the Alpha and hopefully the game will just rock. Naturally pre-ordered it and MW3 so one of them should fill the hole.
  10. Black ops infuriates me at times and makes me smash things and games in general when they dont go my way cause the same effect.
  11. I get two days charge from my Samsung Galaxy S2 but thats largely due to JuiceDefender Ultimate. Really recommend it although I'm going out tonight and it's on the 2nd day so might have a dead phone come this evening....
  12. I've got an iPhone 3GS at the mo which drains out from 7am to about 10pm so once a day charge is normal. I've heard good things about JuiceDefender though for saving powaaaaa.
  13. Ahh mi scuzi, I'm thinking back to my old HTC Diamond days when rooting meant sticking a new ROM on as all the HTC ones were rubbish. Next concern, battery life.....how does it handle the day to day geek usage?
  14. Is it worth rooting or just sticking with the stock ROM? I've heard Cyanogen is currently being worked on for the S2 which might be worth a punt but I 'think' I like the software after a demo of it in a store.
  15. Has anyone got a Samsung Galaxy S2? After hearing glorious things about it I've decided to plunge rather than wait for an iPhone 5. It looks incredibly sexy and most importantly very thin!
  16. HDNL bought DHL UK services I believe......?
  17. I always keep a spare everything in my office. Never know when clean pants will be required!
  18. Was it recorded at all? Was unable to watch it due to travelling home
  19. Russell Howard during his first DVD was amazingly funny. Second tour wasn't all that great though.
  20. I don't actually worry too much about my weight as it's increasing due to muscle mass. I have however dropped from a 36" waist down to a 33" and look and feel a million times better. No more having a belly is such a boost to confidence.
  21. That's because you are applying a techie outlook to a solution that should be rooted firmly in teaching and learning. Blended learning is the use of multiple environments for the benefit of learning. What ends in the classroom is then picked up in other areas such as the VLE. The list above is a very simplistic view of the features of Moodle. Would you rather have your version where a questionnaire is an access form everyone has to login to? Pretty sure the end user would prefer Moodle. You might just need to see some good examples of Moodle and it also depends on your sector as Schools find VLE's far harder to integrate and embed compared to FE/HE.
  22. How exactly do you run entire courses on it? I'd love to see the content of these courses as a file dump is in no way a blended learning environment. The publishing of school data is more of a portal idea rather than what a VLE is specifically used for although the two intermingle in a lot of cases.
  23. Sharepoint doesn't even begin to cover the basics of a VLE, it's a glorified repository in most instances where people call it a VLE.
  24. Coffee is a killer for me, I seem to be hyper sensitive to caffeine. One latte this morning and I'm now bouncing around like I've had an illegal substance. Just waiting for the eye twitching to come in to play now.
