  1. Dual role them? Main school is the old one (that's where the result count right?) and new school them as subsidiary, but you are likely to get a lot of issues with that once you hit census, as the original school will not exist and will not be doing a return right?
  2. To also add, I was able to change the APs a few at a time and run both next to one and other with roaming totally fine. The phone app is really good as you can put an AP up. Adopt it and name it right there and then.
  3. Nope, done all of it. Radius was fine, just have to add each ap as a device. And use wildcard for the ssid name. We have a separate guest network as well with the vouchers.
  4. What if you had the admissions officers at the two schools they are moving to create preadmission groups for each year. Then the person from the original school should export the CTFs and send them (via s2s) to the two other schools. They import them into the preadmission groups, ready for them to be accepted on the date the new school finished, and then set them up to all be leaving the old school as "in-year" transfers at the same date?
  5. Yeah stuff that. I would say that the "in wall" APs from meru are very nice. I used them in some office spaces where there was not overhead cabling. they fitted into a standard 1 gang backbox (i popped the CATs port out and just used a 0.5m cable to go into the AP). Then on the bottom of the AP is 2 ehternet ports, which one is POE so people didn't lose IP phones. The software controller is good (just make sure disable auto java updating on windows for it)
  6. I didn't get it from them, but I did have a stupid cost of just software support cost for controller support from Meru. I replaced 50 meru APs with 40 Unifi Aps for just over 5k. Did it all myself as well, so if you need any pointers, just give me a shout.
  7. Friendface!
  8. KHAAAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!!!!
  9. We are actually looking at moving away from Parents Evening System to this one in there too. Although Parents Evening System is awesome, and has done exactly what we wanted for many years, being able to have it all in one place is amazing for us. Also it means the administrator doesn't have to keep on synchronising themselves for it. Oh, and I have just paid our Cashless Catering Company the £60 they wanted for the license to allow EduLink One to show the information of what balance is left and what everyone has been buying
  10. Yup, you can turn anything on and off for parents, learners and staff individually. Basically you can break it in easily and even rename the icons.
  11. With limited features, I find emailing the helpdesk/support address with what I would like, they are very responsive, they are working on features I have asked for, like the Data Collection one and the adding of a desk shape to the seating planner. Asking for the functionality is the best way, they seem to try their best to get it in.
  12. For ours, we have completely separate teacher and parent accounts. Teacher accounts are Sync'd with LDAP/AD Parent accounts are separate, emailed out details.
  13. SMHW we scrapped 3 years ago for ClassCharts, I have got ELO adding some desk shapes at the moment for the seating planner. It does lack a little bit in that you cannot setup a seating plan for a class which does not exist on the SIMS Timetable but we are paying less for ELO than we are for Classcharts (which is going) We are currently in week 2 on a 6 week testing process before we go live. Another praise for them for me, we had a potential issue, where data collection for staff and students/parents went to the same people, which was a potential data issue. I enquired about it on Monday last week, and I have received an email this morning to say they have added the functionality in for there to be separate Data Collection Managers for Staff and then Students. Just wow on that one
  14. @supportman We picked an attribute from ADSI Edit (we used Pager) and let the support team know, and then the support team populated it for us.
  15. Overnetdata (the company themselves) and EduLink One have had a large presence at BETT in the past, I must admit I didn't look for them this year, but they are not that new to the market. The product itself it very nice, I have cashless catering information pulling in as well, it is a very nice system to administer, although our school wide launch is in 3-6weeks time
  16. Hello all, So it has been 3 days since I have installed EduLinkOne on our SIMS Server and it has been great. The LDAP integration, wonderful! No second usernames and passwords needed for Staff and Students. The Admin guide, so simple to go through and get things. The Support Amazing every email about silly little questions, either because I have missed them in the manual, or that they are to do with the back-end workings (like scheduled CRON tasks) they have contacted back withing 5 minutes with an answer or a solution. I am truly impressed with these guys so far, and the product is lovely, time to play with it a bit more and soft launch it before we go for our major launch, but I cannot begin to say how nice an experience it has been
