How do your PE staff members do their lesson monitor registers? I was thinking of possibly a PDA. We have a slight issue here. The town leisure centre is on the site of the school but the school uses it for PE etc. The centre is owned by the council. A lot of the time, students use the centre for getting changed/swimming etc. I'm not sure the best way for the staff members to take their registers apart from paper. Is getting a link in to the schools network the best way? It would be a major security risk...

Even if there are jobs advertised that you think you can't do or meet all the criteria, still apply. Apply for every job going if necessary. The worst they can say is no. Also try to remain positive. Knockbacks will be a cert, but try not to let it get you down.

Yesterday I received 2 cards, a box of ferrero rocher and a free sat + box.

Yep tried all those. The video card is all upto date.

We use LANSchool which is basically the same. Some students spend a whole lesson sending messages every minute to their mates. Surely this is down to lack of classroom management?? When you tell them that, the staff say 'we can't keep an eye on all of them...'

I have just updated google earth and it seems to hang (but not crash) on crash. I'm guessing its the video card? Its on a resolution of 1440 x 900. I have updated the card along with the latest java, flash, direct x.... Any idea's anyone?

I tried that, and the amount of stink that was caused. Staff weren't happy. I had to put it bluntly that the school isn't a media storage centre. One teacher tried to get away with it saying 'Oh, but it saves me carrying all my cd's around, and I need it to help me teach.....'

We keep a record of messages that contain offensive language, attachments etc. But I know for a fact that they just use it to 'chat' to each other.

Not a technical question just an opinion one really. We have exchange in place with every student having an e-mail address and access. Does anyone else find that they really abuse the privelige? They are using the e-mail system like an MSN chat service. If it were my way I'd remove outlook from them altogether. Does the government still want students to have a school e-mail address? How do you 'police' yours?

Because at the moment I'm paying £20 a month, plus £10 bt. Getting a freesat box, so no need for the tv package. Save my self some money...

Looking at changing my supplier from Sky. Have been looking at O2. Anyone using them at the moment?

I notice there have been a few problems recently. When users, even admin right users, access the bbc radio 1 site for example, ie7 crashes. Anyone else experienced this?

The PE teachers were saying to me about wii's but I said its cheaper and more beneficial for the students to do some proper exercise!! I had to the cross country in the rain and PE in alsorts of weather. Kids nowadays have got it easy!!
