If I'm getting an IP conflict on the our PDC, which has a static address, are we in trouble? The dhcp is in a completely different scope. So there is no hell in ways chance dhcp could pick up the same address. The only way of getting it is someone giving a pc a static address. Do you think someones playing/hacking?!

Yeah I edit the config files. Where it says 'http://www.website.com/crbs', thats the url of the database? I'm confused. I am using windows 2003 and wamp.

Those pesky kids are still installing and getting exe files for games. Is there a way I can delete them for example like a scheduled task on a daily basis. Everytime I delete them they get them back, and I don't want to keep searching their home directories to delete them all ideally. Is there some network scanner software to delete said files?

That hides the drives but doesn't prevent access. For example, in the hide feature we have hidden c and r. But students can still access the r drive by creating a shortcut. So i need to prevent access (the next option down in gp editer).

That just explains how to prevent access to the ones already in place. I want to edit the file so I can add a network drive.

Does anyone know how to edit the Group policy object in Preventing access to drives. I've been able to hide them but students can still access them via a shortcut. If I restrict all the drives then they cannot get into their H: (Home) drive. I need to edit it so I can prevent access to the R: Drive. But they need access as its an apps drive. Make sense? Anyhow, I edited the hide drives absolutely fine in sysvol policies but am struggling for to edit the prevent access.

The most annoying thing is the attitude of my boss and the deputy. They aknowledge all my hardwork, how the school has moved forward IT wise, how well the network is running yet they don't to pay me what I feel I'm worth. This is so frustrating. Time to look elsewhere. The same job role, in the same county is 6k more than I'm on!!

Pay rise request got turned because 'you need to be able to demonstrate a much greater involvement in the curriculum which means getting more involved with students and indeed supporting lessons etc'. What a farce! I am not a happy chappy.
