Mines a mixture of NEC Powermate ML450 (Realtek) and HP DC7800 and DC8000 (broadcom i think). We have also had it on the dual boot macs!!!!

I deploy my images using using DELL KACE's deployment appliance. The images have been sysprep'd using mysysprep and sysprep also joins them to the domain. Im going to try a few things first such as checking the time on the machine and deleting the machine name in AD before rejoining to the domain. Im also at some point going to restart my DCs.

The time is exactly the same on all 3 DCs (2008R2) Also the netlogon service is started on all 3. I think my next course of action is to restart all 3 DCs as per link in earlier post. Is it also good practice to delete the Machine in AD if you are re-imaging?

No i didnt. The machines has been reimaged from from XP to Windows 7 though and i didn't delete the existing machine in AD.

Help!!!!!!!!!!! Im getting a lot of error on my windows 7 desktops with the following error: "The trust relationship between the workstation and the primary domain failed" Does anyone know why this is happening? its not on all stations but about 12 or so this morning alone! I can enable to administrator account and re add it but i dont know why its happening in the first place! Thanks everyone.

Can i use the Terminal service licence key (30 Users) thats on my current 2003r2 server and use it on a new 2008R2 Machine? or would i have to buy new licences? Many Thanks

Just found out what the issue is. I created the Internet Explorer 9 Install Using the IEAK and this for some reason caused issues when using group policies. Using just the standard installer works fine when applying GPOs for IE.

How do you set it using this method? Thanks

Ive just tried the same with an IE8 Install and again the GPO settings for the proxy information does not apply!! If i do a gpupdate /force and it they applies. So i setup a logon script (batch file to run gpupdate /force /wait:0) but this also doesn't apear to run. Setting this as a logon script to run in the account settings of the user runs but is tempremental. This is really driving me crazy now!

Has anyone else deployed IE9 with windows 7? Im having a realy strange issue with the proxy settings in the user GPO not being applied on first login. When the user logs out and logs back in again they apply. Ive done a GPO that only contains the proxy settings in Internet Explorer Maintainance and also done tries creating a reg key to apply the settings via GPO. Both have the same result. I also works when i run gpupdate once the user has logged in. Help!!

Because it restricts the run of .exe in their home dir. Maybe its just me being paranoid but would the software have the potential to do much damage anyway??

Hi Is anyone else at their school doing GCSE Computing, in particular programming? The ICT dept here wants to start to teach programing with visual basic and python. Our network uses software restrictions so Visual basic doesn't really work with students. How does everyone else deal with teachers wanting to run this type of software? Obviously there is also the issue of security. One teacher said that ubuntu can be installed to USB drive and then the programing software run on this? Many Thanks

Its stupid. I was trying to alter GPOs for at least a day, finally done this and it then starts to work. Its the same on all images i have created so not sure if its got something to do with sysprep.

REG ADD "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC\Parameters" /v FormatDatabase /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f Restart the machine and offline files will then work.

Hi Yes i have that enabled. Ive noticed that even when i delete the accessories folder from the redirected start menu (which is in their home folder) it some times puts it back!!! Very strange!

Hi Everyone Im testing windows 7 with redirected startmenu which works but one thing its doing is when a user logs in to a computer, it adds additions shortcuts and folders such as ease of access and the accessories. Are these icons copied from default user profile? if so how can i edit the default profile? Many Thanks

Ive just found a reg hack to re-enable the CSC and after a restart, it works.

Im having trouble getting Offline files working with Windows 7 Enterprise. Has anyone else had trouble with getting it to work? I use folder redirection for my docs etc but i would of thought if so automatically activate offiline files. Ive even set settings in a GPO for the laptop but it still doesn't work!!! Help!
