Sadly though - most of these kids today don't even know how to work THACO out (or even know what it is!)
-
Although - now someone has mentioned memes. (to be honest, any thread started by @X-13 will always go towards memes) Why can I not get the idea of a Nyancat / Neincat tron bike style battle game out of my head? Now, what were the rules to that blummin' 'game'?
2) Make shoddy game 3) ??? 4) PROFIT! Actually, judging by the back of most Sherston titles - many of their authors have gone... 1) Learn Flash on the job 2) Make shoddy educational game 3) ??? (or actually - sell to sherston) 4) Profit! It's worked for them with some really shoddy stuff - not saying yours would be shoddy, but if they can do it...

Wookies are for sharing - don't be Greedo and keep it all to yourselves

A List of Very Useful Applications for Educational Use
korifugi replied to tech_guy's topic in General Chat
7zip Paint.net VLC I'll try to have a think of any more that I generally push out everywhere. *edit* Hmmm, might be a good idea to actually provide some links as well... -
And I'm only talking about it ironically [/hipster]
-
Well, this is the media we're talking about... Guessed passwords = Hacked Guess PIN for answerphone = Hacked DDoS = Hacked Anything else electronic = Hacked But to be honest, if they did say it was a DDoS attack, they'd then have to explain what that was - and most people won't read a headline that says "DDoS takes Virgin Website Offline". Give them "Virgin Media Hacked" and people will read it.
-
Yes but the link also states the following: (which states I'm wrong in my pronunciation - but I'm going to continue being wrong) Jif? Peanut butter? It's cleaning fluid - not peanut butter! Now I'm off to buy a blummin' Marathon Bar
-
Gif with a hard "g" for two reasons... 1) Jif is a cleaning fluid 2) My users'd only start getting confused and probably start referring to .jpgs as "Jiff-Pegs", and that'd only make me reach for the clue-bat.

You know, I'm not sure this is such a bad point... My other half complains like anything when she has an issue, Phone goes slow? My fault - must make it go faster. Computer freezes a little? My fault - must fix it. Stuck on the PS3? My fault - must take controller and complete section of game for her. To be honest though, I don't really mind - The issues she has are never far beyond "give it a sec" or "calm down and think"

You need to own a horse first.... I think it's a cheap phone / tablet stand.

Been sent a link for this by a friend - not because they think I'm overly hairy, but due to the comments section. Please be careful due to some of the language used. Amazon

Not in this weather!
-
Yes, but what about the weather? It's been pretty much similar here, nice weather for the most part Monday - then all started to go downhill fast to today's only brief bits of non-hooning-it-down.

To be honest, they've ALL got something to be bashed for... Sony - Implementing (great idea!), then removing backwards compatability, 'losing' user data. Microsoft - RROD anyone? Having a two-tier online system that can give in game bonuses to the higher tier (only on a few games though)? Nintendo - Where the is my Star-Wars Lightsabre type game that your smegging controller is perfect for? Lets not turn this into a ps3/xbox/wii/pc/etchasketch war though, they all have things they do better than the others

Damn - I thought mine was wireless too

[pics] They really will nick anything these days...
korifugi replied to Gatt's topic in Jokes/Interweb Things
On a more serious note - this isn't very surprising. There's a bakery over the road to where I live (awesome to wake up to) and they recently had a break in where the thieves filled the bakery's delivery van with baked goods, then nicked that too! Best one though, was a site I used to work at - there was a break in and the only thing taken? The CCTV server from the main office. Oh, sweet irony. -
I remember the old days, the Jan sales they used to have - going into the (admittedly packed) shop to find that there was the gem of a new game at about £3-£5. The old "this week on offer" games, where each week a single, relatively new title was £10 with any other purchase. Staff were helpful, liked more of a range of games than CoD, and were actually nice to talk to. I went in recently though. After getting grunted at by an employee for being in his limited field of view, I was almost leapt on by another employee whos enthusiasm I can only put down to whatever glue they had managed to find licking boxes in the storeroom. I did, however know what I was looking for and managed to fend him off. All I was looking for was a copy of Batman: Arkham City for PS3, but the price of their preowned copy alone was sufficient to cut that visit short. Luckily for me - there's a Grainger Games close by, who in Derby seem to be taking quite a lot of business from the Game group. It's not hard to see why.

What's with the obsession with touchscreens and voice entry?
korifugi replied to localzuk's topic in General Chat
I think the entire hype is the fact we've all been brought up with the idea that it'll all be touch panels, holo-displays and speech input in the future - and that now, we're all able to get a bit of that for ourselves... How long is it until we can control a computer like this? Okay, maybe not quite like that - but I think that's the kind of thing fuelling the hype. -
I'm with Steve on this one - every thought in my head is screaming 'scam'. The question is though? What are they trying to gain?
-
Is there not an easier way to enforce policies than slamming them around the immediate area???

Surprised I didn't run across this a lot earlier... *waits for @littleMiss to notice...*
