I have read this thread and I am trying to get my head round what products and costs to use for local backup of Office365. I am looking at the LT and a few other select email accounts, OneDrive and staff SharePoint document libraries. Some products are single user only and some seem to do the whole enterprise. Like most school we are trying to do it on a shoestring. Any thoughts?

Hi Steve, Yup its for the LFT school testing. On the training today, it said that as well as logging the result on the system, registering the student on the 'lite' site no earlier than 24 hours before the test that you also need to log the barcode, test date, result contact details name dob yourself for your own records (QC reporting back to the DfE etc!) ...and also you can't bulk upload the info! What are people doing for storing the school covid test results? Excel, Access, Sharepoint, SIMS or paper?

We are looking at a system that will write session marks back to SIMS for 6th form students if they arrive before their first lesson. We used to have students queue up infront of the office window and tick their names off a list, which is not very C19 secure! I was looking at the SignIn app which allows students to register via contactless MiFare passes, however this will only write a late mark back into sims for one session, it will not work for both sessions. What do other schools use for registering 6th form sessions? Thanks

I created a SDS profile for the Covid shutdown, which worked well. I am now looking at using SIMS ID for the new academic year, however is tells me that the profile is still active, the original expiry date was set to 31-08-20 which I have since changed to 01-08-20 but it doesn't look as though it has helped. All the teams are archived, but what are the implications of deleting the profile? Will the archived teams be deleted? Thanks

I am trying to use SIMS ID to create a profile in O365 SDS After spending weeks getting logged in, I cannot get past the create profile as it thinks the archived profile is still active. Any thoughts?

We have just had a letter about this, I also thought it was scam. We have appointed a new SENCO and are looking at software solutions for logging issues. We have an access DB which needs to be binned for GDPR purposes (and it sits on an ancient SP site!) She is looking at "My Concerns" or "CPOMS" Any thoughts or suggestions?

Sorry I am really annoyed at myself for not making a note of the setting, but it was definitely a computer setting not user.

I tried all of that, we struggled on for a few months using shortcuts on the desktop. Have you tried it with a local account? when I did, it worked with no issues, it was then I realised it was a GPO issue.

For me the issue wasn't the profile, it was a computer setting in a GPO. I had to create a gpo and test the settings in groups - took me half a day, but it works now. I was so shocked I had solved it, I stupidly forgot to make a note of the setting - sorry! I just hope it doesn't happen again!

Has anyone got a Mandatory Profile creation process which works and they would like to share? All the ones I have tried either have major typo errors on them or they don't work. Either that or I give up and take up something more fulfilling like repeatedly bash my head against a brick wall!

I understand that some schools have created a report on google analytics to watch for Ofsted searching for documents on their website. Has anyone here done it, if so what settings did you use and did it work?

We have a member of staff who has been told by her Dr and OT that she needs a mic and amp system in her classroom, otherwise she will risk damaging her vocal cords further and losing her voice permanently. I know there are some very nice (and very expensive) systems out there, but what do people use in the real world for voice amplification? At the moment I am thinking of a wireless lapel mic linked up to the classroom speakers - I know this not ideal, but was using it as very short term solution. Any ideas? Thanks Jeremy

We have a staff distribution group which was locked down so only a chosen few staff and a couple of external email accounts (parentmail etc) could send to it. However since we moved over to DirSync (ADFS) I can't set that in the Office365 portal and receive the error message below. The action 'Set-DistributionGroup', 'AcceptMessagesOnlyFromSendersOrMembers', can't be performed on the object 'Staff' because the object is being synchronized from your on-premises organization. This action should be performed on the object in your on-premises organization. Can this be done? Thanks
