what is IAS called in 2008R2? I'm currently running it on 2003, and I want to retire the server and move all the radius authentications to 2008R2 but I cant even figure out what the role is called. Also, is there a way to export and import all the settings from IAS to 2008R2?

Im about to start planning my p2v of servers, but Im not entirely sure what specs to give the new VMs. Im not able to do an actual P2V using SCVMM as I will be moving services off old 2003 servers to new 2008R2 machines, so most will be rebuilds. But at the moment our current servers are vastly overspecced (24gb ram on a file server, 16gb ram for a box running oliver, etc). So obviously Im not going to be needing to provision anything like that for the virtual servers, but the question is, what would be a good spec. Is there an agent or something I can run on the servers over a month to log Memory and CPU averages to give me a rough idea of what they are actually using? And also with regards to virtual processors, each of our servers has 24 cores, how many virtual processors should each VM get? Cheers

i use the dgn2000 with custom dgteam firmware. works fine for me

you can just select all the members of an OU, right click, properties, tick the email box, and then and enter the email address as you specified.

sorry to hijack this thread, but I've just been made privy to some figures for our licensing prices and I'd like some comments Currently under the schools agreement we are paying over $80,000 AUD With ESS we are quoted as paying just over $15,000AUD 180 staff working over 72 hours 60 staff working under 72 hours We have about 1300 Windows desktops/laptops. How does servers enter the equation? I have no idea what our current licensing model includes, but i do know that we run 2008R2 datacenter/enterprise all over the place with some 2003 getting in the way.. We have Ex2007 with all the staff having an account. How does server consideration affect the ESS? [i post this for my info only nothing do do with any organization or school]

Need to get myself onto a couple of training courses but Im not sure which ones I should go on. I think I want to do an Active Directory / 2008R2 one but obviously something that's fairly advanced. What would you recommend?

Just having a play with our new SAN, and im looking at Cluster Shared Volumes. Ive got all the LUNs available to both servers, and Ive added them as cluster storage. Problem is, cluster share volumes has added them just as "Cluster Disk 1" etc and I Cant seem to figure out which of the Cluster Disks correspond to the actual LUNs. Im trying to rename these Cluster Disk 1 -10 to something else, but the only thing I Can see is the size. Which isnt much use as I cant tell which LUN its from, which means I dont know if its SATA SAS or SSD. Is there any way to match the Cluster Disks to the disks in Disk Management?

Surely HP must by now realise there is a problem and release and official firmware upgrade?!

hmm mine came up with an on screen dialouge that let me enter my new password twice on-screen. And then once competed I got an email confirmation.

once you update to the new firmware, it prompts you to reset your password the first time you try to sign in
