  1. Absolutely nothing in this country compares to the nightmare of navigating your way on the Boulevard Périphérique around Paris, or even worse venturing into Rome:twitch:
  2. I lapsed rather badly on the weight loss and gym side of things and put back on nearly a stone in weight :-( The good news is I've been back at the gym for the last couple of weeks, the even better news is I haven't touched a cigarette since my lapse at the Reading conference, am off the patches and don't have the slightest craving for them anymore, in fact I really hate the smell now.
  3. Even if you're just saving completed projects to it, then unless they both have decent speed leased lines, ie 100Mb, then it's not going to work fast enough. Couldn't you look at a cheaper NAS type box that integrates with AD?
  4. Try to get this sorted through your union, the school will have liability insurance and I'm sure they would be more than happy to come to an agreement without getting the no win no fee scumbags involved.
  5. Could this thread be moved to Security or somewhere that doesn't get indexed by the search engines please.
  6. If you read the article, they can get up to 3 points for each offence. As these are on the spot, they can't do the 'wife was driving, son was driving' trick to spread the points around.
  7. Just checking my man bag....yep....both still there....
  8. If you're getting shares fail on a regular basis then you have some serious problems with your network infrastructure.
  9. You can use an advanced redirection policy to do it by group membership which is probably the easiest way. No need for home folders, very NT4 ;-)
  10. Same as Ashm here, did ours with Robocopy, worked very nicely and that was with over 1500 users.
  11. If you want to see what the Skydrive stuff is like, just sign up for a hotmail/windows live mail account and you will get skydrive with it.
  12. You get the office components that are linked to skydrive, so yes you can edit dosuments. What you don't get is the ones linked to Sharepoint.
  13. The Exchange side (email/calendar/tasks etc) is free along with Skydrive for both students and staff, it's only when you start adding the Sharepoint and Lync stuff that you have to pay.
  14. Not quite: Breaking into the homes of those who've gone to vote Working in A&E fixing the drunk/drugged up/beaten up wife, husband, kids Have sold their postal vote
  15. All I can say is that I'm glad I've got Sat Nav...
  16. They do get counted, they have to record the number of spoiled ballot papers. I agree the biggest improvement to democracy in this country would be a 'none of the above' option, especially if that option wins then it forces a by election with none of the previous candidates able to stand.
  17. It entitles you to an opinion as you got off your backside and registered your indignation at not having a suitable option to vote for.
  18. What if you if none of the parties at the election represent your views? You stand in the election yourself, or spoil your ballot paper as a protest. What if you don't really want FPTP or AV voting systems but want PR? Then you go and vote No as you don't want AV. The vote was on whether or not we want AV, it really had nothing to do with our current FPTP system or PR.
  19. PR - Proportional Representation
  20. I liked your post Trapper, up until the last sentence. PR, well, lets look at Scotland to see how representative that is. With the FPTP section of the vote, there were MSPs voted out because their constituents didn't want them, which is how democracy should work. However, because they had 'influence' in their party, they were also on the candidate list for the PR side of the vote and managed to stay an MSP through that.
  21. Those who don't understand it are probably amongst the 50+% of people who didn't vote. Those who did understand it and didn't want it are the 69% who voted no. What's strange is that you would've expected all Lib Dem voters and at least half of all Labour voters to have voted yes, but the yes vote couldn't even muster that level of support, which kind of puts it in perspective as to how unpopular it was. If a proper consulation with the puplic had taken place and a sensible range of voting options given then I'm sure we would now be looking at having a different voting system to FPTP. People felt that this vote was just a sweetener to the Lib Dems to tick box their demands going into coalition, it therefore got the kicking it deserved.
  22. Do an ipconfig /release Local* ipconfig /release Wireless* (don't do ipconfig /release all) shutdown the laptop and take the battery out for a good couple of minutes see if that fixes it
  23. Or, the simple fact that the vast majority are perfectly happy with FPTP.
  24. Well, No it is then...
  25. OK, please tell me how you backup a Sun/Oracle S7000 series unified storage with DPM, in fact how do you backup any NAS device with it?
