No, no radius server - the Chromebooks only arrived on Monday - I started this all over 2 weeks ago to try and get prepared.
-
The instructions I got from Schools Broadband said to make it a private app, anyway I've tried making it unlisted and still have the same problem. Edit: I don't know what you mean about use the public app and configuration files?

Cheers all, will look at monitoring the uplinks and see what it looks like but you've put my mind at ease.

Needs must, in theory you could upload everyone's, manually change the template and then reupload the class that needs the manual teachers name adding on it. I can't remember, and don't really have anyting to test it with, whether uploading from the same template overwrites the existing DMS record like with Profiles or it creates a second. If it creates a second then you could go through the 30 or so kids and delete the file from DMS.

If it's just for one class, we've manually typed it on the template and generated that subject before to get around this issue. Then just regenerate/print for that one subject class.

Hi all We have quite an aging cabling infrastructure that I need to try and work out what to do. We're currently looking at changing our Phone System and the initial conversations we've had are suggesting going for voip headsets rather than the existing cabling that's there. At present, we still have a 1gb backbone which I think is on OM1 (was installed around 2001, 62.5 core if that helps narrow it down) with still 100mb to the desktop. This still works well and while I've been here after replacing the switches and upgrading the backbone to run at 1gb instead of 100mb it's been absolutely fine. In terms of going forward, I'm nervous about adding in 60 odd voip headsets due to bandwidth. We have added about 6 voip headsets to the existing system, 3 are in a building on a 1gb backbone with only a dozen devices at most and the other 3 are dotted across several other links so I've not noticed any issues with them but another 60+ is obviously a different matter. Am I right to be concerned, should I be looking getting up to a 10gb backbone to be able to support this and if so will the existing fiber be able to run 10gb or are we going to have to look at new fiber runs as well as new switches? Any advice much appreciated!

I setup it up from scratch so I'm using the primary admin account that I registered it with. All I get when I try to publish is the attached which then says I don't have access.

Hi all I'm pretty new at this so bare with me if I've missed anything obvious. I'm helping a primary school who have just bought some chromebooks, I've got an extension from Schools Broadband which I want to force install on all of them, but I'm stuck. I've uploaded the extension and set it to private, but it's currently in draft - I'm assuming I need to publish this however when I try to publish it it tells me to go to the new Google Developer Dashboard and accept the privacy policy. When I follow that link to the new dashboard, I then get an access denied message saying that I need to get an administrator to grant me permission to it. When I look at the apps/services available in GSuite I can't see an obvious developer dashboard that I need to enable/add/allow to let me access it. Am I doing something obviously wrong that I need to do or should I be doing this some other way? Any help much appreciated! Thanks

We licence datacenter currently for our hosts. It's probably right, you need a minimum of 16 core licences per server and if you are running and standard grants you rights for 2 vm's, so 2 x 16 cores grants you 4 VM's (2 on each server) and then you need to licence your other 4 VM's which is what takes you up to 64.

Possibly something to do with Proxy Server settings? If I remember rightly they can sometimes interfere.
-
I think that's by design, as the domain admin will run as a normal user until elevated as with a local administrator.
-
If it's reinstalling everytime, do you have Enterprise console on the server and that is linked into AD and automatically pushing out or some other script that's pushing it there on startup? Using the Cloud Migration Tool as mentioned above did make it really easy to do, only a few failed machines that needed a manual visit to sort.

Printer Install Error- Printer Name is Invalid
Cache replied to kidpressingbuttons's topic in Windows 7
Does manually mapping the printer work? It's probably something driver related. -
This thread shows where we ended up, drop me a PM if you want any more details/help. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/educational-software/208900-ableton-live-suite-10-a.html

It's a single user, but as it's for thier business I want to try and find the easiest way to do it without losing any mail in the mean time. Otherwise I would just setup a new tenant and migrate it across. Thanks for this - when I look at the partner relationship and removing it, I see it says they can still purchase on our behalf - if I get them to buy direct from Microsoft the same licence, remove the delegated permission and get them to get the 123reg licence canceled, it should all just pick up automatically?
-
Hi all Not work related, but struggling to find an answer elsewhere. I'm helping a friend with a website. Currently the domain is hosted by 123reg and through that 123reg resell Office 365. They are wanting to move the domain away from 123reg, however they want to keep Office 365 and pay for this direct to Microsoft. Has anyone any idea what the best way to achieve this is? I can't find much info on it anywhere. Thanks

EAF Supply Chain were recommended to me by a Fujitsu contact - might be worth trying them, stock can sometimes be a bit iffy: https://shop.procurrieurope.com/

Is the student actually assigned to a class for those lessons on their timetable? Sounds daft however that's the only time I've seen the boxes grey... Might they have been removed for an intervention/alternative curriculum and not returned to the class in Student Curiculum once it's finished?

[sims] Sims Finance and Remittance emails sending problem
Cache replied to browolf's topic in MIS Systems
Port 587 to Office 365 (smtp.office365.com). -
Yes, it works with any version - if you need to update the satellite install you just rerun the installer on the workstation.
-
Which new update?
-
Just point it to any old directory, I have it installed at home still from some work before the summer and just set it to c:\sims (which doesn't actually exist)
-
Documentation index file missing is normally because the sims folder isn't mapped correctly or the sims.ini file contains an incorrect path so that it is unable to actually find it. Might be worth investigating.

I've setup RMUnify sync and I'm concerned.
Cache replied to chazzy2501's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Although the RM Unify Sync instructions say that you need to disable UAC on the server, I just ignored that part and carried on - not had any problems I'm aware of. -
[sims] SIMS - How do you add "Teacher Role" to sims user
Cache replied to The_IT_Guy's topic in MIS Systems
Are they linked to the correct member of staff in Manage Classroom Staff (or are they not linked at all)?
