Yeah seems to be all back to normal now.

It seems to have gotten worse now. The forum list is also displaying incorrectly as well as the Thread list. Tab view is still ok.

Hi I use No Tabs as my prefered theme and while the Forum list displays corectly, Thread list is displaying incorrectly as an ordered list instead of formatting it correctly. Tried in Both IE/Firefox logged in/logged out with cleared cache.

I've just seen a SMART 6065 demo unit which was delivered to a local primary yesterday. Not had chance to play with it yet as I've been involved in online testing all week, but going to have a play on Tuesday. I have seen it and it does look very very nice!

I agree mostly with this as well. To the extent that I actually prefer the old interface to Solus 3 more then the current one. Atleast in the old one, I could got to a section and know what I was expecting to find most of the time. Now to deploy an agent I can get roughly in the right area, but still have to click almost every tab in 3.7 to find out the exact bit I want, remember that I need to choose my domain and enter the username and password again before browsing for the computer otherwise I get duplicate entries for all my existing computers and then have to repeatedly enter my username and password to deploy it. In the old interface I could go and enter my username/password once and I was done.

No, we don't pay for Student Licences at the moment, however we had to place an order through our VL Agreement supplier, which then added a key to our VLSC account which I then needed to add to Office 365. The question was really if I can skip out the placing an order, getting a key and adding it to Office 365, then it simplifies it a hell of a lot and I would like to switch to it

Yes and apart from a couple of odd issues I work around with in the new version, it all works pretty well!

Just curious, over the last year I've upgraded a load of RAM in 70 odd PC's and now have a stack of spare RAM sticks sitting in the corner of my office. Curious if anyone has any ideas what I could do with it? It's not the best in the world, 2 x 512MB DDR2 PC2-5300, but still, anyone have any suggestions other then recycling?

We have Macro's enabled for all workstations anyway, mainly because of SIMS and it's requirement for them for reports, plus it was simpler for coursework and things like this site. I've become quite annoyed by it now, probably not helped by the fact I haven't had the best week, however obviously the provider is blaming me and the network for it not working correctly because we have the Recommended security level enabled. It's their blooming macro that has the issue when you enable editing from Protected View, nothing I've done and I'm becoming more stubborn about disabling protected view because they won't admit that there is a problem when "other schools have no issue" despite providing reproducable steps and settings to produce the error, in school and outside of school. If we save the file somewhere then there is no issue, however there are dozen's of files and we're not supposed to save them apparently.

Curious, after an issue with a online course recently which requires you to download and run Excel files which contain macro's but give an error when you Enable Editing to allow the macros to run but is against the agreement to save the files anywhere (don't ask) - do people leave Protected View enabled or disabled on your network?

Not so much a how do you do it, more a did you do it and then how! A few years back (everything comes back 2011, but it doesn't seem that long ago) everything was save money, build your own interactive board using Wiimotes. We could do with more interactivity, but have no monies to spend on buying Smartboards or nice shiny interactive touch screens or anything else nice and fancy, so I've started to revisit the idea of DIYing it but it all seems to have gone very quiet on that front, with nothing really being updated since the initial rush. So..... Has anyone done it? Do you still do it? What did you do? Does it work well? Any replies greatly appreciated!

A few years back I wrote something similar, however instead of writing to a users home directory I wrote the username to a text file on the shared area once they had accepted it. The script that launched the .hta checked the file for the username as a string and didn't run if it was present. To reset you just deleted/renamed the text file.

What is in your /var/log/apache2/error.log when this happens? Might point you in the right direction.

Yup, this is how I would do it if I was ever given a CD. On our shared drive I know there are some word documents which the kids fill in to compile their portfolio's, as to how the rest of it is run I stay as far out of it as I can. CoPE was being run before I started here, however I've tightend up the Software Restriction considerably since then and nobody has come to say anything about a CoPE program not running.

I would try, although not sure whether this is the same issue Nova-T6 has with Dates or not, altering the user's regional settings to a different region (I normally pick US for no particular reason), apply the settings and then change the regional settings back to UK. See if it makes any difference.

I remember reading on the Moodle forum somewhere that you should set the config.php to be your url you access Moodle through because various components depend on it. It makes perfect sense, it's probably just the first time I've seen it done. Every where else I've seen tends to be a course per topic so it's just nice to get a different take. Will see how our's progresses in new term and might adopt your approach.

Very interesting read, ties in nicely with what I'm working on at the moment. I have 2 questions about the way you've done it: 1. For the ID field, which one did you use to pull from SIMS? Was it ID or External Id under CESThirdPartyFields, or some other field? Was it the same field for both staff and Students? 2. Was it just the way you've done it, staff choice or some other reason that you've created a course for every class? Just curious about this one. Thanks

Well two ways I'd go about it. 1. Try and get the PO from the finance department, see where the order was sent to, phone Capita up with the PO number and get the details surrounding the order. 2. Phone Capita up and ask for the details of your account manager there and then ask them to either check details of any orders to Adobe or ask for an order history and tackle it from that point of view. Going with a PO and asking Capita for details regarding the order would probably be the easiest path.
